Good experience using as a day pack
I spent far too much time shopping for some kind of 'day pack' option for a recent trip because I suffer a lot from 'buyer's remorse' with so-so purchases. I wanted something that was NOT a backpack with two shoulder straps as I've never worn a backpack in this way (makes me look stupid, IMO). And, I like the 'messenger' bag approach of slinging it over my head cross-body on one shoulder. I am a bigger guy--big men's 3XL size, so I wanted something that could fit a water repellent wind breaker in my size and still have room for things like a sunglasses and eye glasses case, sunscreen, wallet, keys, cables and a battery. Ideally also room for a water bottle and a compact umbrella. I mention the windbreaker because I went to Toronto in early spring and there were going to be many days when it was cool or rainy enough for some parts of the day--but as I easily get hot at that time of year wearing such a garment, wanted to NOT wear it when I didn't need it. Well, this bag had room for all of that. It was a little snug with my larger sized jacket (two 'normal' sized human beings could fit both their windbreakers in it, likely) in the main pocket to include much else (could fit a bigger sunglasses case and some smaller items, however, when folder the jacket tightly). I really liked that the exterior side pockets are collapsible back to being flush with the bag but using the snaps to fold the flap/pocket closed so it didn't look bulky. These side pockets fit both the typical 12oz plastic water bottles and the small collapsible umbrellas. So, on some days I had a water bottle on one side and the umbrella on the other, or a water bottle on each side, and even once--our rainy day--an umbrella on each side. But I think what really needs discussing is the quality of the product. The material, zippers, security features, overall construction, handle at top, etc, etc. It does feel quite 'spendy' given how many bags are out there for much cheaper, but I think if you want something that is very well made, well thought out, and has some interesting security features, it is in fact, worth the price. Some reviews I've seen describe the security zippers or latches being difficult to use or taking more time to manipulate, but you do not have to use them that way, and that's also kind of the point. There are videos that explain how to use them quite easily with even a few minutes experience, and the materials they send with the bag also explain it if you just take a few minutes to read them. I wish the pad on the strap would get a little more attention. Maybe a bit wider pad, and/or have a way to keep it from sliding on the strap--this was manageable, but would be a nice improvement. That said the length was fine for me (6'3") and it is adjustable. Overall, and given all the bags I've had over the years that were single strap, this is the best designed one that I've had. I should also mention because I see this come up--yes, I am able to fit my MacBook Pro 14" from 2021 in this bag, so I can use it as a laptop bag locally. Highly recommend this bag.

PacSafe Improves Metrosafe Line, Excellent Update Over Previous Version
I love PacSafe bags. When I first learned about them, I purchased the previous version of this bag. While I liked that model, it did have a few shortcomings. This new edition corrects those flaws. First of all, the strap is shorter. The longer strap of the first bag was often too long and sometimes uncomfortable to wear. The shorter strap has adjustable cushioning and can be worn across the body or over the shoulder. It also doesn't dig into my neck the way the previous one did. It is a joy to wear or carry this bag. The strap is slash proof, wide and sturdy and features a new locking mechanism that you twist open and close to lock. The angle is easier to manage when worn across the body and doesn't get in the way. The body retains the slash proof exomesh like the previous version and both sets of zippers can lock. I love the two pouch design, it works better for me than the over flap of the previous model. The lower front pouch has an inner zip mesh pouch that's nice and deep, two open slots for passports or phones, an open section behind the slots to put things in. I love the added depth of the mesh pouch and sections, as I can fit portable headphones and chargers without a lot of bulk. The main zippered section is nice and deep and contains 2 open slots, one of which is an RFID blocking pouch to protect your chipped, credit, debit or passport cards from remote scanners. The larger pouch reportedly will hold a MacBook or mid-sized iPad or Kindle. I can fit my glasses, wallet and more, comfortably, without having to rearrange things. There is also a zippered pouch on the back of the bag and two snap pouches on the side. In addition to the shoulder strap, there is also a smaller strap atop the bag that you can use to easily pick up the bag. I use this as an everyday purse and I absolutely love, love, love it. If you are someone who needs room to carry things, you will love this bag, it is sturdy, well made and goes anywhere. If you prefer smaller bags, PacSafe makes theft proof versions as well. The only thing I do miss is the color. This new version only comes in red, black or tan. I miss my Midnight blue.

**UPDATED feedback** Bag is good. RFIDsafe blocking pocket smaller than expected.
The LS250 anti-theft shoulder bag is generous in size, but not too large that it's overly cumbersome or that it'll be confused for a backpack. This is key as many European museums and other sites are requiring back-packs be checked in for security measures. Because it has 2 compartments and 1 zip pocket in the back, I think it will provide more organization than a typical tote would provide. I was able to easily roll up a light cotton cardigan, a DSLR camera in a slim-body camera case and a second telephoto lens in the middle section. I had plenty of space in the front compartment to organize phones and a myriad of other stuff that we end up carrying around while on vacay or traveling in general. PROS: - Overall, this bag is as I expected: sturdy, functional and well-made. The material seems pretty indestructible and one that'll wear well over the years. - Despite it's generous size, it's surprisingly LIGHT in weight. Yay! - The cross body strap in this more recent version of the bag is markedly more comfortable than the previous version's. It's also longer so that a tall person (+6 ft) will easily be able to lengthen to accommodate for extra height. But it's also very adjustable for shorter folks. - Locking feature on middle main section: It appears to be a pretty good lock as it's not easily opened. If anyone tried to fiddle w/it, you'd definitely notice. - 2 outside pockets will hold a small water bottle and or a travel-sized umbrella. - It will easily pack flat in a suitcase. CONS: - Front section of bag: I'll need to fiddle w/the bag, but it appears that the front section of the bag is not securable. This is surprising as that section has the various pockets for cell phones, etc, that could be easily opened and possibly stolen. UPDATED / CORRECTED below. - RFIDsafe protection pocket: It really is only a pocket and SMALL considering the size of the bag. I didn't clearly read the description provided on Amazon: "RFIDsafe blocking material built into a pocket in the main compartment helps protect IDs and credit cards from hacker scanning." I obviously misunderstood and thought that the entire section that is lockable was RFID protected, but it's only a smallish pocket. The height of the bag is almost 14 inches tall. The pocket is approximately 7in H X 6in W. It would have been awesome if the pocket was at least the length and width of this section. I'll need to either purchase an RFID safe wallet or purchase RFID safe sleeves for any scannable items that may be at risk. Sigh... **UPDATED** Correction re security: I thought there was only 1 locking mechanism: there are 2! The front section has it's own "locking" mechanism; very discreet (so discrete that I didn't see it!) on the lower front right corner of the bag. To engage, pull the 2 zip tabs all the way to the bottom to close front and then latch to clip. If ANYONE should try to get into the bag, you'll definitely feel it. Wonderful feature!!

Love it!
Update: I just got back from a trip and this bag was perfect. I packed too much in it, but it held up well. It was especially perfect on the plane as a personal item. I got this primarily to securely hold my mirrorless camera. I didn't want an obvious camera case for trips. I love Pacsafe products. This product is the perfect size to put my camera lens up. It also has a padded pocket for a tablet. My 10" fits fine. The locking mechanism for the front zipper was tricky. Your pull back and clip the zipper loops and push forward until you hear the click. There's a hole to add a small lock, but if you have the bag in front then someone is going to have to stand in front of you and bend over to unclip the front zippers. There's a RFID pocket inside the large back pocket. There are two side pockets large enough for a water bottle, small tripod or umbrella. Lots of videos on this particular version - LS250. I purchased it at the Amazon price of $101 plus change and tax. Currently the retail price is 169.95 on the Pacsafe website.

Excellent well-made bag that can fit a laptop with very little or a lot of other things without a laptop
This bag is perfect for short trips or for carrying around where you might worry about pickpockets and/or slash-and-run thefts. I was able to squeeze a 12.5" Surface Book and a Fire HD 8 tablet into this for air travel as a personal item, then in Europe use this as a daypack with identification and basic credit cards, etc in the back pocket and camera, extra batteries, phone chargers, accessories, packable rainjacket, and items purchased while out shopping or souvenirs, etc. The zipper on that pocket can be clipped into the clip for the shoulder strap which has a locking mechanism. It is designed so that it doesn't need to be secured since it is the side closest to your body, but I felt more secure with that clipped in. The only thing that is not secure is, of course, the water bottles you put in the side pockets. When we were going to attractions that may frown upon that, we were able to bury the bottles inside the main pocket. While we doubted the utility of purchasing something that would essentially really only be worthwhile for travel, we ended up realizing its full potential and it was well worth it. My wife also had a Travelon Anti-Theft Classic Tour Bag Medium, Black, One Size that was smaller but managed to be utilized in lieu of her purse. I preferred this bag and she preferred that one. Matter of choice and what you are trying to fit inside as this is slimmer but taller and my Surface Book would not fit in the Travelon bag (though to be fair both companies make a variety of styles and sizes). It is worth noting that with the Surface Book and tablet, it was at its limit and not a whole lot more could fit in the main pocket--which was fine for my purposes. When using it as a daypack, I didn't need the Surface Book and could fit a lot more. The wide area of the Surface Book makes the bag stretch, not uncomfortably, but just enough to not squeeze much else in there. I was hesitant with the Travelon as a few reviewers had noted the straps seem to come undone as threads tear over time. No issues on either bag so far but they are relatively new and only survived a short 14 day trip to Europe. I will update if anything changes over time.

Perfect size, lots of pockets
This bag is fantastic for travel, nice size-not too big to be cumbersom worn crossbody & very adjustible. Used as my "carry on" personal bag instead of a purse. Holds an I-pad or Kindle in its case-could prob get both in depending what else you're carrying. There is 1 inside padded pocket to fit 1 tablet. Lots of pockets, a couple of key holders; and the zippers can all be locked of you want (you need an extra cable-type to lock the body-side pocket, if desired). That's where I carried boarding passes, ID & whatever needed to get through security & moved the ID to the RFID pocket after. Plenty of room for extra masks, wipes, etc. This pocket is next to your body when worn so not easily accessed by others. Inside the center of the bag was plenty of room for two quart bags with makeup & liquids. Other pockets used for phone, charger. I even had pockets I didn't use on a short trip!! It's amazing how much more secure you feel knowing someone can't quickly cut it & take off with it. Contrary to other reviews, the locks were easy to learn how to open & close; but it's not always a super quick action. Seems very sturdy. I'd recommend to anyone who needs to carry a bag for travel or day trips out & about. The 2 outside pockets for water bottles, etc. are very small (short) but could work for sunglass case or snacks.

Great, secure way to carry your valuables!
I bought it to travel to Europe and it is great for carrying my digital SLR camera and extra telephoto lens, as well as money, passport, pen, notepad, chapstick, comb, kleenex, etc. The security pocket is ample for holding two passports and several credit cards. The bag holds way more than I expected. The only negative is it is heavy to carry with my camera and extra lens. It does, however, have a padded area on the strap that you can adjust to where it fits best over your shoulder. The locking mechanisms are a bit cumbersome to use. I use a TSA approved three digit lock for the main compartment with my camera and that is quick and easy to use. Well worth the money!

Good for somebody.
I didn’t like this bag. There’s nothing wrong with, just not for me. That being said, the materials and build quality is top notch. I could hold everything I needed in this bag with plenty of spots. Zippers we’re great. The pocket on the side will fit a small water bottle or maybe an umbrella. It doesn’t have a lot of give though so don’t try to over pack it.
