This is a miracle soap! Gets grease, blood, grass, coffee...you name it, out of clothing! For tougher stains you have to put a little elbow grease into it, but I am truly impressed! Best stain remover I have ever used in my 44 years! Definitely worth it. I will use this for the rest of my life!!!

Love the smell! These bars were smaller than I expected. I made laundry detergent for the first time. It works great. This soap was grated up in it. It’s great!

Fels Naptha has been a trusted name in laundry stain removal for over a century. This pack includes two 5.0 oz bars of heavy-duty laundry soap designed to tackle stubborn stains, grime, and grease. Whether used as a pre-treatment for stains, a booster for homemade laundry detergents, or even for poison ivy relief, Fels Naptha is a versatile household essential. Pros & Cons Pros: ✅ Highly Effective Stain Removal – Fels Naptha is known for cutting through tough stains like grease, oil, sweat, dirt, grass, and food-based stains. It works particularly well on deeply set-in stains with minimal scrubbing. ✅ Multi-Purpose Usage – Beyond laundry, Fels Naptha can be used as a degreaser, a DIY laundry detergent ingredient, and even to alleviate skin irritation caused by poison ivy or oak. ✅ Long-Lasting & Economical – Unlike liquid stain removers that can be used up quickly, this solid soap bar lasts for months. A little goes a long way, making it a cost-effective option. ✅ Free of Harsh Bleach & Dyes – While powerful, Fels Naptha does not contain harsh bleaching agents, making it suitable for colored fabrics. It also lacks synthetic fragrances that can be overpowering in some commercial detergents. ✅ Easy to Use – Simply wet the fabric, rub the bar onto the stain, let it sit, and wash as usual. It’s straightforward and doesn’t require additional mixing or special equipment. Cons: ❌ Strong Scent – The bar has a distinctive, old-fashioned soap scent that some users may find overpowering. While it fades after washing, those sensitive to fragrances might prefer a milder alternative. ❌ Not Suitable for Delicate Fabrics – Due to its strong cleansing properties, Fels Naptha is too harsh for delicate fabrics like silk and wool. It’s best suited for cotton, polyester, and other durable materials. ❌ Requires Manual Effort – Unlike spray stain removers, using Fels Naptha requires scrubbing and pre-treatment, which might not be ideal for those seeking a quick, hands-off solution. ❌ Can Dry Out Hands – The soap’s deep-cleaning formula can be drying to the skin, so wearing gloves or moisturizing after use is recommended. ❌ Not Widely Available in All Stores – While popular, Fels Naptha is not as commonly stocked in major retail stores as liquid stain removers, meaning you may need to purchase it online or from specialty stores. Recommendations & Verdict Who Should Buy It? • Individuals looking for a powerful, affordable stain remover – If you frequently deal with tough stains from work, sports, or kids, Fels Naptha is a great option. • Homemade detergent enthusiasts – Many DIY laundry detergent recipes use Fels Naptha for its deep-cleaning abilities. • People with outdoor lifestyles – Hikers, gardeners, and mechanics who often deal with dirt, oil, or poison ivy exposure will find it useful. Who Might Want to Skip It? • People with sensitive skin – Due to its strong cleansing properties, those prone to skin irritation may prefer a gentler, fragrance-free stain remover. • Those looking for a quick, no-scrub solution – If you prefer a spray-and-wash approach, a liquid stain remover or detergent with built-in stain treatment might be a better fit. • Users of delicate fabrics – Since it can be too harsh on delicate materials, a gentler stain treatment is recommended for such garments. Final Rating: 4.5/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐½ Fels Naptha remains a classic and highly effective stain remover that delivers excellent value for money. While it requires some manual effort and may not be suitable for all fabrics, its versatility, affordability, and stain-fighting power make it a must-have for many households.

This soap is really good for rubbing stains out of clothes before putting them in the washing machine. I just wet the cloth and gently work this in. Sometimes I use a soft brush if it’s a stubborn stain. I make sure the stains are completely gone before I put the garments in the washing machine. Works like a charm. It also works well for poison ivy. I soap up my arms and let them dry before putting on my garden gloves, so it gives me a protective barrier from the oil in the poison ivy. The generous bars last a long time. I hope they keep making this forever.

I've used Fels Naptha for years and have gone through multiple bars because, quite simply, it works. It's one of the most effective and affordable stain removers I've found. I've successfully used it on everything from food stains to grease spots, and a single bar lasts a long time, making it an excellent value. That said, as I've been transitioning to more non-toxic products in my home, I started paying closer attention to ingredient lists. Unfortunately, after researching the ingredients in this soap, I've decided it no longer fits with my goals of reducing potentially harmful chemicals in my household. Because of that, I probably won't continue purchasing it. However, I want to be fair: if non-toxic ingredients aren't a major concern for you and you're simply looking for an effective, budget-friendly stain remover, this product absolutely delivers. It has earned its reputation for a reason. For me, effectiveness alone is no longer enough, but I can still acknowledge that this is a powerful and affordable laundry staple.

This laundry bar… I’m speechless. Not only did it get iron-rich clay baseball dirt out of my stepsons white pants, but it rejuvenated my beloved converse high tops. I bought these shoes preowned 2 years ago because I loved that they were all white with the black/white labels. They were already dirty when I bought them. Then, I got them dirtier over the 2 years I’ve had them. I never washed them. They were filthy but I loved them. You can see the progression from beginning, to wet and gross and wow you can see every single stain, to “oh no what are these uncovered yellow stains that the dirt was camouflaging, I think I ruined my favorite shoes,” to the final product after throwing them in the washer. They aren’t perfectly unstained, but I don’t want them to be… ruins the lived-in look I like. If I washed them one more time, they would be completely stain free, I know that in my heart and soul. I don’t like the scent very much, because I don’t like artificial “fresh linen” smell, but I don’t care. Why did none of the older ladies I know tell me about this? Gatekeepers... This $4 laundry bar is going to be getting a glowing recommendation to literally everyone I know and will remain in my laundry room until the day I die, and even then I’ll be leaving all the Fels-Naptha bars I own to my daughter in my will. Fels-Naptha brings blessings upon blessings.

I wish I discovered it earlier. It is fantastic. Removes stains very well, we used it on shoes as well. Great! Already re-ordered another pack.

Yes love this soap I make my own laundry soap ,has a nice clean smell

Didnt do what i expected. Cant even get it to lather let alone remove stains

Five stars are lowest one, I wish I knew this product before.

Excellent soap product.

I first saw this soap on a YouTube video by Jinnie on Homestead Corner. I decided to purchase it on her recommendation. This is my second order and I love these bars for removing really nasty and tough stains including crude oil from my husbands pants. I spray with a little spray and wash, then rub with the bar of soap and scrub a bit with a toothbrush. I repeat again in a while, let it sit then toss in the washer and voila, stains gone! If by chance a stain is not totally gone when I take the garment out of the washer, I immediately repeat the process before drying (drying will set the stain). That usually does the trick! I have shared my soap bars with my sisters and they love them too!
