I installed this on my 2006 John Deere 125 tractor. There is no useful documentation that comes with the kit, but if you watch one or more of the YouTube instructions you won't make a misstep (there are plenty of vids on this repair). I saw some reviews that indicate the replacement parts are somehow deficient, but the heft and thickness of the steel seemed comparable to the original parts. The final result is my tractor steers like new...I am very pleased.If you have good basic mechanical skills and the right tools you can do this repair. Although it looks like you could do this without removing the mower deck, just go ahead and remove the deck. It's so much easier that way. You will need several sizes of wrenches as the several nuts and bolts are different. Depending on the year/model of your tractor you may need some metric sockets, especially the elusive 10mm socket ;-) You will need a helper when you install the steering gear...someone has to hold the steering wheel in the correct orientation and press down on the wheel as you tap the new gear onto the other end of the steering rod from below.TIPS / SUGGESTIONS: While you have this disassembled, its a good opportunity to do some cleaning underneath the chassis, grease the steering zerks, and clean/grease your mower deck parts. Also, go ahead and put a little grease on the new steering gear and the teeth on the steering gear plate after installing. Finally, be patient and don't rush the job. You can do it in a couple of hours. Lay out your parts as you remove them to make removal / installation easier.

Was not extremely difficult to install, but would be easier with the deck off of the mower. It fit well, but other reviews say it won't last. Only time will tell.

Order arrived faster than anticipated date! This sector & pinion gear with nylon bushings was just what my LA145 needed! Although installation was "a little more involved" than the YouTube video showed it to be! Pinion gear was harder to get off than expected & had to soak in PB Blaster & then use a butane torch, to heat (Be careful, as fuel line runs nearby!!)...Eventually, with a bit of coaxing (Hammer & Vice-Grips), it finally came off the steering shaft! Anyway, greased all the zirts while under there and it steers like a new one! Mines 9 yrs old BTW...

Job is a little tedious, due to not much room to work. But all parts fit like OEM and works great

Other than the location it is on the tractor it was easy to install and worked well.

Parts fit good, fixed steering issues. Would like to have in kit a couple of shims to tighten fit to plate, to account for wear. Made a washer shim from old plastic I had at house.Recommend this kit.

Bought this for my JD LA130. It was a perfect fit. I watched a YouTube video on how to replace the old one. Took me about 1.5 hours to complete. Price was great. I'm very happy with it.

Disappointed in the very soft metal used. It fully failed within a couple of months. I will gladly pay the extra twenty dollars for the factory OEM gear only this time.
