Durable and top-quality
I bought this car seat cover for a 2014 Subaru Forester. It fits well and I love the quality and durability. I bought this to protect the leather seats in my car from damage by dog toenails. I did a lot of research to find a seat protector that is padded and made of tough fabric. I could tell as soon as I opened the box that this was the right selection. I also like the way it fastens to the seats. Not only are there straps that go around the headrests, but there is a thick elastic strap that wraps around the front seats. You stretch it up and over the headrests. This means that the strap is behind your back when your sitting in the front seat, but it is comfortable to lean against. Mainly the extra elastic straps give a more secure fitting to the hammock portion over the open area behind the front seats and allow it to take a bit more weight. There are elastic sections meant to attach to the outer corners of the back seat and keep it from sliding. These don't work for my car, but that is no problem. There is a rubberized layer underneath the seat protector and that works well enough to keep it from sliding around on the seat. Yesterday, I needed to accommodate a rear passenger for the first time since installing the seat protector. I was able to remove it without difficulty in probably under a minute. Very easy to install and remove when needed. Actually I only uninstalled it halfway. I unclipped it from the headrests where my passenger would sit and folded it over on the other side of the rear seat. Very easy. I would definitely recommend this product.

A great way to protect your seat
I recently purchased this for my Lexus ES350. I am involved in dog rescue so will periodically transport new dogs or pick them up to foster. I wanted something that would protect my seat and last. I read a lot of reviews for other brands. Several times, I thought I found a good option until I looked specifically for reviews from people who had the product for a significant period of time. In those cases, I often found that the revies indicated that product would fall apart. This one, which was at a middle price point, seemed to have quite a few reviews from people that were happy with the product even after a long period of time. I also saw that it stayed in place on leather seats, another common complaint of other seat covers. The most difficult decision for me was what size to get. Clearly the large was intended for a sedan like mine, but it sounded like that might not cover the whole seat. I opted for the XL for the coverage and hoped that it would fit okay. It fit fine (overlap on the sides which is okay) and was easy to set up. I can't address how durable it is because I have only used it three times but when I did use it, it worked great and did not slide around. It seems to be well made and I expect to get a lot of use out of it. I believe this will be a good investment to protect my car.

Great Product for a 75-pound Oaf
We have a Dalmatian-Pit Bull mix who rides in the back of the car. He has either torn up or consistently dislodged every seat cover we have tried prior to this one. He is not destructive, just his existence and moving around has caused them to all be ineffective. Until now. The Petego Hammock works almost flawlessly. First, it is a very sturdy cover. I have no concerns about his claws eventually ripping through it since it is a very heavy material. Second, it attaches very securely to the posts of the front and rear seat headrests, creating a nice hammock (duh) that does not move. I have had to pull the straps tight after about a month of use, but even then it had slipped maybe two inches but was still firmly attached. Third, it is easy to remove and clean when needed. Fourth, it is not so unsightly that you feel like the Clampetts when you drive around with it in the car. Ours pretty much stays installed constantly. Fifth, its shape creates a barrier that keeps our oaf from passing between the front seats and standing on (and shredding) the console. I guess he could still do that if he really wanted to, but at a minimum the fact that there is a barrier there has kept him from doing so. My only complaint is the corner straps that are supposed to hook around the front corners of the rear seat do not secure well on our seats. They come loose, allowing the side panel that slips between the seat and the frame of the car to also come loose. This is a minor problem because even when those are not secured, only the very edges of the seat are exposed. Sooner or later I will figure out how to resolve this issue. For anybody looking for a good car seat protector or has given up on seat protectors, I highly recommend this product. It is certainly not the least expensive one available, but it is far better than anything else we have tried.

Plott Hound proof, so far.....
We bought this for our 75 lb, very active dog to help give the leather seats on our Toyota Highlander a fighting chance. Previously we had comforters and towels to protect the seat and the dog slid and skidded all the time. As promised, the bottom is non skid and the dog is able to ride without sliding all over the place. So far, the straps holding the hammock to the front seat headrests have held up when he places all his weight on those straps. Mostly the hammock style also helps keep him in back where he belongs...though we make sure he isn't left alone in the car for long periods of time, because he could climb right over into the front if he chose...it acts more as a deterrent than an absolute barrier. The fabric controls hair, moisture and dirt, and is easy to shake out. It's also not difficult to take down part or all of it when humans need to use the back seat...just drop the hammock off the headrests. There are slots for the seat belts to come through so there is no absolute need to remove the device for non-canine passengers. The broad elastic straps that attach the hammock to the bottom of the bench seat could be better made to fit. The hammock comes with no real directions but....you'd have to be a little challenged not to be able to figure out how to set it up. Also, some people have mentioned that this doesn't work well with travel harness systems....our dog already has a harness. We put it on him for car rides. We have a leash wrapped around one of the rear headrests, and we clip this leash to his harness, with enough room to stand and lie down comfortably. This secures him somewhat against accidents (at least he won't fly through the windshield) and lets us use this hammock while still restraining him. It's well made. There were cheaper ones out there but we chose this so that we wouldn't have to put up with flimsy stuff that would be wrecked after a few car rides. So far we are very happy with it and it seems to be holding up well.

Best Car Seat Hammock I've Ever Used
This hammock is great! I have an 80lb. Weimaraner who loves to ride along with me. He fits comfortably in the back seat of my '05 VW Jetta, but he likes to hang his head out the windows when he isn't sleeping. In the past, I've tried tucking blankets around the seats, as well as cheaper, poorly-designed car hammocks. Everything looks great until he's in the car for about 5 minutes, then the hammocks would sag and the sheets would fall down. The car has leather interior, so I was concerned it might get damaged...until I ordered this hammock from Petego! The material is thick and easy to clean, and I love the rubberized backing that keeps it from sliding around. Also helpful are the bands that wrap around the seat backs of the front seats to keep the hammock from sagging. The portion where my dog sits and lays down on is quilted and slightly cushioned, which makes for a much more comfortable ride for him. I just took a weekend trip to visit my dad (4-hours one way), and this hammock never budged. It provided complete, secure protection for my seats, and a comfortable area for my dog to sit and lay. I'd recommend this to anyone! I know there are cheaper hammocks out there (I've owned a couple), but in my opinion, you get what you pay for. This will not disappoint!

Great product!
I bought this Petego Hammock Car Seat Pet Protector way back in 2013 as I have a large GSD and I had a '96 Toyota Corolla with which I was driving us across the country. This product was perfect for giving my big dog a safe ride from MA to CA. I placed his large dog bed on top of it, which created a comfortable place to sleep most of the ride away. Even though my old car didn't have the rear seat head rests to strap the product in place, I was able to pull the half seats open and tuck in the seat-back part of the protector, closing the seat-back onto the protector to hold it firmly in place. I have brought my dog to the pet stores, hiking, or the dog park 2 to 5 times per week since moving to SoCal 3.5 years ago. Up until the wear & tear and hot, dry heat caused the belts to tear off, the hammock function of this product did a sterling job of keeping my dog from injury due to sudden stops (preventing him from being thrown to the floor or pitched into the front of the car), as well as kept the backs of the front seats free of dog fur (my dog sheds A LOT). It's not difficult to install or to remove for cleaning, if only to shake the sand off it. I have continued using this product as a seat protector; both the canvas material and the nonskid backing have proven highly durable, and it keeps the rear seats dry when my dog hops in still wet after swimming. I miss the hammock part of it; the only improvement I think the product needs is wider Neoprene belts for securing the hammock to the headrests of the front seats IMO, I really got my money's worth out of this Petego product. If the product hasn't been changed, I have no qualms about recommending it to dog owners. I will, in all likelihood, invest in another one soon.

The BEST dog hammock you can buy
Most hammocks look nothing like the picture when you install them because they fit so poorly and don't stay in place. That is NOT the case with this hammock. It fits and looks exactly like the picture and it stays put. I love the adjustable straps, quick release buckles, sandbag tabs that fit between the seat bottom and seat back and the rubber backing that all serve to make sure the hammock stays where it belongs and protects your seats and carpet, not to mention, your dog. The material and construction appear to be top notch. This hammock fits the back seat of my Yukon perfectly (most hammocks aren't big enough for trucks) and my dog loves it. A few minor improvements would make this product even better: 1. The slits for seat belts could have some sort of closure. To me, protecting the seat seems more important than having a slit for a seat belt that is not likely to be in use when the dog is in the back seat. 2. Flaps to cover the sides of the bench seat would be awesome. Trucks require big dogs to jump quite a distance. Scrambling happens. Claws may make contact with leather and no one wants that ... These are not complaints, I knew what I was getting and I am more than happy with my purchase. It was well worth the extra cost to get a quality product.

Loose fit bothered me
I'd have given it a higher review if it weren't gap-y against the front and back seats -- and the connecting cables don't align with my (short) back headrests, so it would take too much finagling to get a better fit. I also think that the light grey color, while the closest match to my black interior, will show a LOT of dirt, and the bulkiness of this product would make it difficult to clean. Still .. it's far superior to the last car seat hammock I tried, which ripped from the weight of my dog. This one has a great rubberized bottom, to stick to the seat, and great pieces that slide into cracks of the back seat to better secure it. Brilliant. But the poor overall fit and light color led me to return it without my dog even getting on it.
