Shaking the Tree: A Crime Thriller (Max Strong Thriller Series Book 1)

This story was so well put together. I especially liked going from one situation to another in real time. Very easy to remember the characters and their roles.Read it in two sittings.

This fast-paced thriller is a pleasure to read. Stories involving Russian mafia thugs and corrupt law enforcement officials usually don't interest me, but this was a real page turner. GREAT ending!

A good thriller. Sometimes a bit confusing as too many names involved. But I will read some more books of him.

I started reading the Max Strong books out of order, but after enjoying the latest one (Trouble Will Find ME) thoroughly, I realized I wanted to start from the beginning. Mr. Donohue's writing is peppy and fast-paced, and he's an absolute master in the art of dialogue. This one does a great job of tying together seemingly stray plot threads, all the while keeping Max at its center. All the ingredients for a great crime thriller, none of the excess fat. Well done! Can't wait to read the next one.
