Great value for your dollars
The LG S80QR has good sound quality for the price I paid, $596 US. It paired nicely with my LG OELD55CXPUA using the HDMI-ARC cable included. It has super crisp and clear dialog and fills my 400sqft den with immersive 5.1.3 ch sound. Was easy to set up, however, the enclosed manual sucks so you'll need to go to LG support and download the info and I highly recommend the SB app for your phone as the remote comes up short on ease of use. The three upfiring speakers on the soundbar make a huge difference when watching movies in Dolby Atmos and the center one during dialog. The rear speakers compliment the sound bar with great surround sound. The huge sub woofer comes up short in bass if that's important to you. You can tweek dynamics/levels within the phone app mixer. Connectivity is ok, it did drop HDMI-ARC once in past month to where I had to restart both TV and SB after a 2 minute unplug wait. WIFI did kick in when HDMI dropped. Bluetooth works great with my android phone but will not connect to my Intel based PC. All PC drivers have been updated but my PC won't "allow" the connection even though it paired. Has a lot of useful features and I look forward to adding a BlueRay player next.

This Soundbar is AMAZING! SOUND QUALITY IS BONKERS!!
OMG! I don’t even know where to start with this Sound System! It is Absolutely AMAZING! It has the most BEAUTIFUL Sound Quality! I managed to score this Baby during Prime Big Deal Days so it was an absolute STEAL for Value - But now that I have it - It’s definitely worth full asking price! I haven’t lost connectivity once as compared to my previous LG surround system that would lose it constantly to the rear speakers! The size of the Front soundbar is significantly larger than my previous soundbar but that’s because it has a LOT MORE Speakers in it compared to others! With the Dolby Atmos, DTX, Rear Speakers etc, and everything it has the Functionality that I really wanted! And the volume can get exceptionally loud! The only thing that I MISS from my previous LG surround system that this one is lacking is with the rear wireless speakers! My Old system allowed you to push vocals through to them, not just the “music” and this system does not appear to have that capability (at least not that I have found, even when it’s on clear voice).. and that is a feature that I REALLY LOVED on my previous system & now have REALLY MISSED with this one! Given the spacing of my room, I have to have the volume up louder than I really want just to be able to hear the vocals in shows or movies but then the music tends to be too loud as well 🤷🏻♀️ But overall it’s nitpicking BECAUSE I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this system & it was bought for a brand new QLED TV! They work beautifully together! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND This Surround Sound System! It is really an AMAZING System!

Great for value, easy to set up, works well with other LG products
I am happy with this purchase. I bought it on sale from Amazon. The setup was easy, my smart TV is an LG and my Blu Ray played is also LG so it integrated seamlessly with those products. It sounds great and it replaced a LG HTS system that was over 10 years old and failing. Tweaking settings through the app is easy although you can control it on screen if you have an LG smart TV on screen. The AI setting for audio detects and decodes whatever output is needed for most programs taking the manual guesswork out of having to manually do it.

Incredible soundbar impressive features, held back by the subwoofer
I recently picked up the LG S80QR soundbar, and while it offers impressive sound quality and features, it’s not without its flaws. The soundbar does a fantastic job with dialogue, ensuring voices are crystal clear, and the surround sound creates an immersive experience that really draws you in. What stood out the most to me was the WOW Orchestra feature. Once my LG B2 TV was updated to support it, the soundbar and TV speakers worked together seamlessly, creating an incredible audio experience that felt truly premium. This feature quickly became the highlight of the system for me. However, the subwoofer is where the system falls short. It doesn’t deliver the deep, powerful bass you’d expect from a high-end soundbar setup. Bass-heavy scenes often feel flat and underwhelming, which detracts from the overall experience. It’s surprising, considering how well the rest of the system performs, and it leaves you wishing for just a bit more punch in the low end. On the positive side, the setup was straightforward and quick. The wireless connectivity for the rear speakers and subwoofer is a big plus, and the sleek design fits in perfectly with my home setup, complementing my TV beautifully. While this soundbar has some incredible features and delivers great overall sound, the lackluster subwoofer keeps it from being perfect. If LG addresses this in the future, this system could easily become a top choice for home audio enthusiasts.

Excellent sound system for the price!
Impressive sound system! I was very surprised with the build quality, design, and sound quality from this system! It produces excellent sounds at all ranges, especially for the price! The remote is easy to use, and the system integrates via ARC automatically, so volume control is possible via an attached television, which makes it even easier to use. The subwoofer and main bar are a bit large, but overall this is a great sound system at an excellent price!

Good system for fixing any low blood pressure issues you may be having
This is supposed to be a mid range very good quality system. It sucks. The quality of the items is good as in, well manufactured. The problems are with the remote, the software and the soundbar controls. First, the remote. There are no visual indicators that the remote does anything. No icons in the screen overlay, no lights on the soundbar or anywhere else. Changing modes is interesting because there's no indication what you've selected or indeed, that pressing any button does anything at all. The buttons on the soundbar are the same there's no display, nothing lights up, nothing. There's a tiny sound, barely audible, that a button has been pushed. You have to really listen for it. Connecting the system to the app is likewise frustrating. And because there is no indicator showing if the buttons you're cycling through by pressing on the soundbar are doing, you can't tell if it's in pairing mode, Bluetooth, or wifi, or anything. When the app finally read the device as being in wifi mode, it wouldn't connect, saying the device and my phone were on different wifi networks and that I should fix that problem. They weren't. They both showed connection to the exact same wifi network. That's an hour and a half of frustrating pushing of buttons. I finally got that to work by rebooting everything, including my phone, at the same time. The app sucks. It's extremely basic, with no preset sound options. There's a supposed AI sound setup that, after I ran it, seems to have disabled sound from the rear speakers. It did not come with a digital audio cable. It only had one hdmi cable. Either a second HDMI cable or a digital audio cable is required to complete the sound setup, so I hope you have a box of extra cables laying around. I'm not going to say a word about the overseas chat help desk other than it was about as fun dealing with them as the rest of this setup has been.

Excellent Sound Quality
Excellent. It's like, proper surround sound, with speakers in the back, so movies and games feel more real. You can actually hear what people are saying. Sound quality's solid. Hooking it up is a breeze. Plus, you can use Google or Alexa with your voice. Gamers will enjoy passthrough tech. If you've got an LG TV, they just work together. You can control the soundbar with your LG TV remote, and they even share sound modes, so everything sounds perfect. Super easy. Bass is decent, but compatible content matters. All in all, awesome product. A great upgrade.

Good but not awesome
The setup was manageable. 1 Everything must be powered off. 2 do all your HDMI and speaker wiring. 3 plug in power in this order ; subwoofer, rear speakers, then sound bar , then TV. 4 go to TV and add sound bar. 5 download app. It will take a while to configure so plan on an afternoon. The app is very useful for configuring. If you are using the Amazon fire TV stick you had to add the sound bar in there under setup. I had it running for a few days and for some reason it crapped out and I had to go in to the TV setup again. I have no idea what happened. I used the HDMI 2. arc settings in the TV and on the sound bar , as I can't get the LG WOW to work. Again it could be me. I tried several times but no luck. The TV is a new LG OLED 77 inch with all the bells and whistles. The sound is good after calibration. Bass is not overwhelming. Some would complain about the lack of bass but it's good for me. I would like to talk to an LG engineer on this as I may be doing something wrong on the LG WOW configuration. FYI I'm using ultra HDMI 8k cables on all connections. Update. I dropped my rating down to a 3. Reason I woke up to watch the news and the sound bar did not come on. I rechecked all the connections and everything was fine. I went back into the LG TV settings and it was connected to hdmi connection so I unplugged everything turned everything off reconnected and it came back on. Everything was fine all day turning off the TV when I left the house and back on. The next morning I woke up to the device not functioning again. So this time I plugged in the optical connection and configured the speaker output to optical plus TV. I'm an engineer so I think I have a good handle on this. Hopefully it works correctly.
