This product says, "only cover the heating pad on your body. do not sit or lay on the heating pad." can it be used behind your back when sitting?

I’ve put it up against the couch cushion to lay on to help with back pain, and Lay the pad on the pillow for my stiff neck while awake and have had no issues.

does anyone know if there is a heating pad made in the usa? i'm not buying anymore chinese junk?
