It's challenging to find cough syrup for children under age 4, and some of the ones that include actual medicine are not doctor recommended for young children as those ingredients are hard for their little bodies to process (they are effective, just hard on the organs). So finding alternative products for toddlers is really hard. So this product fits the bill for being natural and not having any true medicine in it. And Elderberry has long been sought after to use when anyone has a cold/cough and even the flu as it really is beneficial and works to help reduce symptoms and duration of illness.Works to help reduce my 4 yr old granddaughters cold symptoms and cough. I like the ingredients over all and the inclusion of vitamin C and zinc are additionally beneficial for helping one get over a cold.The issue I'm having with supplements with vitamin C for children is the dose and the stated daily requirement fulfillment. Each product seems to have a different idea of what that daily requirement is and hence the percentage met is wildly different. Children 4-8 need 25 mg of vitamin C daily, so this product should meet 100% of the daily requirement and it shows it only meets 33%. I've found this issue with all the vitamin C products I currently have for children. Don't know what the variable is - like do different types of vitamin C get absorbed differently and it's the actual absorption rate being stated? So confused about this issue. Other than that I like this product and brand and have used this brand for years.Price seems competitive within the natural products field with comparable ingredients and size.

This is a new formula, it actually taste pretty good. I like the fact we can give it to both boys (age 2 and 7) instead of having to buy two different cough syrups. Just adjust the dosage for age, instructions on the side of bottle and box. Every year, I hope they don’t come down with anything but they are boys and magnets for everything. Dry winters we run the humidifier while they sleep and take elderberry gummies in the morning but sometimes they just come down with that winter cough. We have other Nature’s way supplements and find they are great quality and effective.

It contains all natural ingredients, such as geranium root extract, black elderberry extract, vitamin C, and zinc. I gave this to my 3-year-old son when he had a cold recently, and it really did help him. His cough was less severe and his throat didn't hurt as much after taking this syrup. If your child is 1-5 years old, the recommended dose is 1 teaspoon 3 times daily. If your child is 6-12 years old, you should give them 2 teaspoons 3 times daily.
