A very interesting book, get me down to the sea

Beautifully written and researched work on coastal witchcraft
An excellent book. Well-written and researched, and grounded in deep practice. This book includes an overview of sea deities in history and from different cultures, sea folklore specifically local to Brythonic peoples, and detailed ideas for spell craft and meditations that harness the immense spiritual energy of the sea. I particularly liked the author’s rich, descriptive passages of rituals in her own life. As an Australian, while I can’t easily replicate specific acts such as visiting the Welsh, Cornish, Brittany, and Irish coasts once inhabited by my own ancestors, ‘A Sea Witch’s Companion’ offers enough information that I could adapt these practices to the coastlines I call home.

Eine Übersicht bzw Einführung
Ich habe das Buch in einem Rutsch gelesen, es ist auch sehr verständlich geschrieben. Ungefähr die Hälfte des Buches beschäftigt sich mit Grundsätzlichem wie Tide, Mond und verschiedenen Gottheiten die (mal mehr mal weniger) Bezug zum Meer haben. Auch werden Sagen, Mythen und Folklore zum Thema erläutert. Die Autorin erwähnt in der Einführung, dass der praktische Teil absichtlich so geschrieben wurde, dass man eigene Invokationen, Sprüche usw nutzen kann. So löblich das auch ist, hätte etwas mehr Inspiration diesbezüglich nicht geschadet denke ich. Es ist ein nettes Büchlein. Empfehlen würde ich es, wenn bereits ansatzweise Wissen zum Thema Magie vorhanden ist (für absolute Neulinge zu wenig Input) aber kaum zum Thema Meer. Wer bereits mit oder am Meer arbeitet bekommt hier leider kaum neue Informationen.
