Father-in-law is notoriously hard to shop for. Upon opening this, he immediately called to express his excitement. He loved the details and it was a very thoughtful gift for an Army vet. First time in 26 years that I've gotten that response from a gift I've given to him!

I eyed this item for about a year before purchasing it. I loved that it was Navy vs Army since my husband is in the Navy and I am in the Army. We don't really use it to play chest but use it more as a decoration Carving were pretty nice however the painting on it was not the best.

My dad loved it! He collects chess sets and is retired navy and his sister is retired army. The pieces look antique I love it!

To note: females have white formal uniform dress in the NAVY (so the blue dress for this set is wrong)Outside of item mentioned above, it is a great set to have.

So disappointed with this product! To bad cause we really love the design and the idea (especially my father in-law being a retired army and my husband in the navy) i hope the quality is more durable. We bought this for my father in-law and as soon as he opened it he got so excited and really loved it and they played it right away but just one dropped from the coffee table (so its not that high table) and it broke instantly! My husband has to fix it with super glue! And now it will be for display only!
