One of the best
This is one of the best handheld cb radios I’ve used. It has several handy features and works great. My only 2 complaints are battery life which is only short if you use it to talk on a lot, just monitoring channels and only using it occasionally like I normally do at work it lasts over 12 hours but talking frequently cuts it down a lot. The other complaint is the antenna. It does not have a very long range for talking or receiving with the original rubber antenna. It works fine for what I use it for at work but if you want more range either get an adapter and a longer antenna or use an adapter and a mobile antenna. I bought adapters and have both. I use the HYT telescoping antenna with an adapter as well as a Wilson little wil magnet mount mobile antenna on my personal vehicle. At work I just use the rubber antenna it came with because range is not an issue as I’m close enough for it to do what I need it to do. With the other 2 antennas it has a good range up to 7 miles that I’ve talked on it. Overall it’s an excellent choice for a handheld. It takes up very little space feels very solid and high quality just like you would expect from a company like President as they used to make some of the best and still some of the most sought after radios from back in the day and this one is no exception especially with all features like AM and FM capability as well as the NOAH weather broadcasts. This also has automatic squelch control so if you don’t like the static of normal cb radios you turn on the asc feature and it cuts out almost all the static and allows you to receive only the strong clear signals near you. It’s an excellent feature in a small radio. This is perfect if you need to communicate with others for work purposes or even just to keep charged up and toss in your vehicle to monitor traffic because cb radio is still the fastest way to get traffic info and save yourself a lot of time avoiding backups and accidents. It’s even good for off-roading with buddies because it takes up so little space in even the smallest vehicles. I’ve never used a better handheld especially at this price

From Zero to Hero: Meet the President Randy II CB Radio – Your New Best Friend in Communication!
Alright, let's talk about the President Randy II CB Radio. And no, it's not named after your neighbor's uncle who always shows up to the block party with too many hot dogs. This little gadget is like the James Bond of handheld radios, except it won't shoot lasers or drive a car underwater (unfortunately). First off, let's talk about the design. It's sleeker than a dolphin slipping through a pool of butter. You know how some handheld radios look like they were designed by a committee of grandmas from the '80s? Not this one. It's got that futuristic vibe that says, 'I'm here to communicate AND look cool doing it.' But looks aren't everything, right? Right. Because this bad boy packs more features than a Swiss Army knife on steroids. You've got your channel scanning, your squelch control, your noise blanker – it's like a buffet of radio goodness. And don't even get me started on the ease of use. I swear, my grandma could figure this thing out, and she still calls the internet 'the interweb.' And the quality? Oh, let me tell you about the quality. It's like the radio equivalent of biting into a perfectly ripe peach – crisp, clear, and oh-so-satisfying. Whether you're chatting with your trucker buddies or just listening in on the neighborhood gossip, you'll feel like you're right there in the action. So, in conclusion, do I recommend the President Randy II CB Radio? Heck yeah, I do! It's like the Swiss Army knife of communication devices – except it won't help you open a bottle of wine. But hey, nobody's perfect. Five stars, two thumbs up, and a pat on the back to whoever invented this little slice of radio heaven.

Better than what I expected!
Best handheld CB I've had! I was a little worried when I read the instruction manual before I ordered, that it may be too complicated. Many Chinese radios I've had were difficult to master due to the clunky nature they set up the menu's and keys. I completely did everything with this radio without the need for the manual! Very nicely sized radio, with many useful features. You have high and low power settings, with with the original rubber duck antenna, I left the radio on Low as high with a rubber duck doesn't give you much of a gain, but probably would with an external antenna. Battery life was petty good, probably better than the other CB handhelds I have that use AA rechargables. About the only thing this radio doesn't do is SSB, but I haven't seen any handhelds that can do that. A great radio!

Could Be Local Problem?
work well enough as walkie-talkies, but a lot of static, which could be base on where we are.

Excellent build and performance
A bit pricey, but worth it. I like the user-interface. It was fun learning all the buttons and functions. Initially I didn't pick up many stations when I tried it in my house, but that's due to interference from all the switch-mode power supplies in all the stuff we use these days (LED lights, computers, power adapters for everything, ...). That RFI raises the noise floor by 20 or more dB (3 or more S units). So I took the radio to a nearby park and it was amazing. Every channel had activity. I even heard stations from the East coast and West coast - while being in the middle of the country. Of course the big solar activity in recent days helped those stations bounce signals off the ionosphere. But the static noise was gone. So local stations were heard too. When I got home, I tested the radio's sensitivity and it seems to meet or beat it's published specs. And - it was 10 dB better at receiving weak signals than the much cheaper Uniden Pro401HH I bought at the same time (see first photo). I'm glad I spent the extra money to get this President Randy II FCC radio rather than getting two of the cheaper (but still nice) Uniden radios. Oh yeah - transmitting worked well too, though I learned I need to be very close to the mic for full modulation on the Randy II. And it always pays to invest in a good antenna. So I added a 52" telescoping whip with TNC mount on the President Randy II FCC.

Would NOT recommend as it only worked for a day!
DO NOT BUY!!!!!!!!! These radios are complete JUNK not only did one only work for a day but I returned the item and the next one worked for maybe a week, and still have a 3rd one that I will probably just throw away as it is likely to do the same thing if used for more than an hour like the other 2 did. The idea was for this family of 3 to each have one but you can toss that idea with these Randy products as we found much better products for cheaper!!! Would not recommend anything that says President Randy on them to anyone. Worst product BY FAR I have ever purchased through Amazon and I have purchased a LOT!!!!!!!!

Good quality radio for a specific purpose.
I bought this thinking it would be better than two-way radios for off-roading and communicating with groups that I'm with. I was wrong I sent this back and bought two-way radios. This is probably a good product for someone that lives near a lot of radio traffic and wants to communicate with truckers and other people on the road etc but for communicating back and forth with just a group of people this is probably not the best radio. The quality of this radio is top notch very adorable good quality radio however I tried communicating with truckers on the road and the distance was not very good and I only heard one other person while testing this. I ended up sending it back and buying two-way radios much better for communicating for off-roading, and camping.

This radio actually works!
I work Traffic Control, I'm a Flagger. My job is to keep the everyone on the job-site safe/alive and traffic flowing at it's best. Folks in the cars think my job is to make their life miserable. They just don't understand. Anyway, that's my rant for the day. When paving roads, either asphalt or concrete, we, the Flaggers, need to get the truck drivers with the materials in and out of the job-site ASAP. Truck Drivers use CB radios. I have tried many different brands of hand-held CB radios. Due to the short "Rubber Duck" antennas all of them have a very limited range. The President Randy II, in not only my opinion but also my co-workers and the truck drivers, a much longer, clearer, range. All of the other brands either go thru batteries like popcorn ($$$), or the battery pack won't last a whole shift. Paving can sometimes goes beyond 12+ hour days. Those battery packs or bunches of batteries make the other brands heavy, again, you are carrying this for 8 to 12 hours. The President Randy II Pros: * Light weigh. * The rechargeable battery will last a whole shift. * FM Band is clearer and fewer people on it due to it being relatively new to the industry. * FM Band has Security Channels. * AM & FM. as the truck drivers are replacing their radios they are also going with the dual band. If you stay with the AM only radios you will not be able to communicate with them if they are on FM band regardless of the channel. The President Randy II Cons: * The battery pack is built in. Not field replaceable/quick change. * The handheld speaker/microphone is proprietary to the President Randy radio. * FM Band Security Channels have to be manually programed and only work with compatible programable radios. All 3 of the Cons are not deal breakers due to the Pros. My Co-workers have started replacing all of their "other brands" of CB radios with the President Randy II due the performance of the radio. Side note: I use a collar clipped speaker/microphone on my radio to keep my hands free. It's worth the $. Keeps the actual radio dry when its raining, my hardhat keeps the mic dry.
