Reliable product
I have purchased Ceramcoat Varnish for many years and have always had pleasing results. I would recommend this product for any crafter or tole painter.

The best
Delta Ceramcoat, in my opinion, is the finest craft paint you can buy. The matte varnish gives a nice finish to everything I paint without being too shiny or altering color appearance and intensity, as some finishes do. We restore a lot of picture frames, and this works better as a protective finish than anything else we have used. Matte is sometimes hard to find, however, so we were thrilled to find this at such a good price.

My Favorite
I continue to recommend this as the best coating for certain types of craft work. Certain users have complained that the formula of the interior/exterior varnish has changed (too thick, too hard to handle). I only use the interior varnish and have had no problems with it. I find it smooth and fast drying. It is best used fro very thin coats.

FITS THE BILL FOR ME
Someone on a YouTube video recommended this varnish for use on ATC cards to protect their surface and keep them from sticking together. Now, my ATC cards are not beautiful works of art by any means. I can't speak to how the varnish might work on various surfaces or a really nice piece of art. I generally use acrylic paint, sometimes watercolors, thin and thick collaged paper and various other mixed media on my cards. I usually do thin it down with a bit of water. It dries very quickly and I generally apply multiple coats about 5" apart. It works well for my purpose - it does protect the surfaces (I've splashed paint on a varnished card and it wiped off), it "stiffens" my cards (that's a good thing for my ATC cards) and they DON'T stick together which was my main reason for buying this varnish. So, for my needs, it fits the bill.

Excellent matte varnish
I've been using Delta varnish for years on my acrylic paintings, both on wood and canvas. It goes on easily and evenly and brightens/brings out colors without a high gloss. Plus, one bottle goes a long way, and the price was right from the Amazon seller (under $10 with free shipping, which is less than I pay at Michael's or Jo-Ann's). Great item.

Ruined My Project!
It ruined my project! I followed the directions and when I tried to put a coat of this varnish on my acrylic piece, the "varnish" actually went on in streaks. It was too thick and I could not spread it on. The product almost instantly dried on so it streaks, clumps and looks horrible. Then I tried pouring the varnish directly on the surface with a little better result, but the finish is uneven and looks like an amateur did it.Also, it took a lot of work to get the varnish off my brush, palette and hands. The product dried so fast and it did not appear to be water soluble as stated. I am going to contact the manufacturer about this!

Just what I was looking for
I had the gloss finish however noticed that it reflected too much light from a painting on the inside of a gourd which I did for a craft project. The reflection distracted from the painting so I decided to try the matte finish which worked perfectly. Protects the painting but does not reflect so much light that it distracts from the finished project.
