highly recommend this product
Before I received my order, Smonet company sent me some instructional videos, including setting up a different system than I had purchased, playback, and backing up video. The latter two were helpful. This wireless system with a monitor and cameras is good quality. For setting up the package, you will need a Philips screwdriver to attach the monitor to the stand. Also, I recommend buying a longer ethernet cable for your home modem/rotor beforehand because the one supplied is extremely short. The hard drive is preinstalled with this package, so you do not have to do it. The NVR comes with a mouse so that you can navigate the system.Once the system is plugged in and turned on, with the ethernet cable plugged in, you must enter a password. The username is a default. When you attempt to enter a password, the system will indicate that it is wrong even though you just turned the unit on and never set it up. As a result, not mentioned in the instructions, you must select the option that you forgot your password. It will bring you to a setup screen where you must scan a QR code on your smartphone, which will download the “XMEye Pro” application. Once the application is downloaded and you have created your username and password, you must follow the instructions to change the password on the NVR system. The instructions were not too complicated, but you must have a smartphone because QR codes and passcodes are used.Once you can log into the NVR system, you must start plugging in cameras with their power source. The power adapters are much longer than shown, but you might need some extension cords. One by one, each camera will show up on the NVR screen. The “XMEye Pro” application also lets you view the cameras on your smartphone. I tested the two-way audio system on my smartphone, and it worked fine. I could have a conversation with another person. When I tried human recognition, the system alerted my smartphone promptly. To navigate through the NVR system, right-click on the mouse where you will find numerous settings. The supplied user guide was helpful in these areas. I was not able to download the “XMEye Pro” application onto my computer, but it worked well on my smartphone. Even though the initial setup was not as easy as I had planned, I still highly recommend this product. For my purposes, I found that four cameras are not enough, so I will purchase more.

Easy to set up, good image quality - hope it lasts
I bought this system for my elderly parents as a plug-and-play setup to work in conjunction with an existing alarm system that doesn't have any cameras. I specifically wanted to avoid something that needed an internet connection to work, which most IP cameras appear to need in conjunction with some sort of app, with registration etc.The good:* Things appear to be of solid construction, particularly the camera housing that appeared to be metal (aluminium I would guess). I wouldn't suggest doing a drop test on the screen though.* Decent image quality, 1080P as described (as far as I can tell) - you have some other output options to connect the device to other outputs, but I didn't try this.* Everything worked out of the box - could connect cameras one at a time to do some initial checks, and it had decent viewing angles, with night vision kicking in at low light.* Comes with its own little mouse to navigate / enter input on the screen* Plenty of options, motion detection areas (pretty standard for these systems)* Can be extended with more camerasI didn't use it enough to find any significant defects, but as noted below I only had a few things that it needed to do, and it does those well. From all accounts the installation was as difficult as finding places for the cameras to go that still had ready access to power.Notes:* I have not tested the motion detection feature* I was not concerned with DVR/recording as it's mainly for "real-time" viewing when alarms are triggered from existing motion sensors.* The night vision is good for my use, but the cameras only have a few IR emitters (compared to other wired cameras I've used in the past), which might not be sufficient for some cases* I can't comment on the longevity of the system* Guide indicated that you should keep cameras and receiver on the same horizontal plane for an optimal signal, but slight deviation didn't seem to cause any issues.* Didn't appear to cause interference with an existing Wifi network.

The system works well, is inexpensive, and is easy to set up
I wanted a system where the cameras are hard wired for power, but wireless for transmission to the base unit. This system works very well and at a low price. I took my time setting it up, and one needs to be a bit handy, but it so far has been plug and play as described with no glitches. The reason for hard wired for power is so that I don't need to access the cameras every few months to recharge them and so that they can be constantly on, so no worries about missing something. The reason for wireless to the base unit is because the cameras are at opposite ends of the protected location. It would be awkward and messy to connect all those wires to a central base unit. The wireless transmission has worked with no problem. Also, I can hide the base unit with no wires identifying its location.Note that the angle of view is much wider side to side than up and down. I have had no issues turning one of the cameras 90 degrees so that I have the proper angle down an alley. It is just sideways on the monitor.I ordered my system with the 12" monitor. For a few extra dollars, the dedicated monitor (the hard drive is in the same housing as the monitor) has been super. It fits right on a shelf. It is very easy to click on the screen so that a single camera image fills the screen. Very convenient to see if it is, say, the delivery guy.A problem. The antenna is on the side of the camera, as opposed to the top. This caused its motion to be impeded by the base, making it impossible to attach it to a wall and angle it 90 degrees to the left. I made a bracket out of 3 1/2" angle irons to overcome this.

Excellent system and customer support
The system was very easy to set up. Worked great for just over a month until the hard drive failed. Customer support was prompt, efficient and we got a new hard drive without cost to us! Super happy!!

excellent customer service
The cameras were easy to install except you need a fairly large hole to fit the network cable connector through which isn't needed as the cameras are already linked to the NVR at factory, would be nice if this cable was somehow removable. Easy setup very clear picture especially on the NVR its amazing how clear the night vison is in pitch dark like inside my garage. My customer service agent Jamie called to make sure everything was running and answered some setup questions she was very helpful. The EseeCloud app was easy to install on my phone and work well. The only other negative is the NVR doesn't fit very well in the stand not a big deal it still works just seems odd.

Amazing customer service
My daughter bought me the Smonet system that comes with 4 cameras and a 2TB hard drive in late October 2021. I reached out to their customer service for help to set up the system for a test run and was very impressed with how responsive Sharon, their tech support, in walking me through the admin system setup.I needed help to install the cameras around the perimeter of the house, but unfortunately due to the pandemic, I had not been able to get any contractor to do the job until a couple of weeks ago. By then, not only that I have misplaced the manual, I actually forgot the new password I created when I first got into admin system to do the test.I reached out to the customer service again and Alex, another tech support, got back to me in no time and spent some time to help me recreate the new password and set up the access on the cellphones.I have yet to fully figure out the full extent of the system functions, but found the image quality, both day and night, amazing, not just on the monitor but also the cellphones. Above all, I have to say that I'm very impressed and happy with their after sale support.

Impressive camera system
This is a very good and reliable camera system. The security provided can be improved tremendously by adding an alarm that can be heard through the monitor, or some buzzing.
