Flowers as metaphor for the creative process: one imagines then creates, one grows then blooms! I suggest that exuberant synergy of creative heart and brain by collaging fabric and paper, color and texture. Four fantasy flowers based on historic designs are hand cut from patterned papers, layered on vintage botany textbook pages backed with bright fabrics. They are embellished with contrasting ink sprays, buttons, and an inspirational word stitched on organza scraps. Each 5" x 7" collage is mounted to a larger sheet of accordion-folded acid-free 140# watercolor paper. The decorated front and back covers are hand textured mat board. The book will stand upright for display when opened. It extends about 24".
