A flower garden is a metaphor for the creative process: one imagines then creates, one grows then blooms! In my Dream As Flowers book 1st edition I represent that exuberance with paper-cut mixed media collage. Every stage of the process is an opportunity to introduce different colors and textures that express the synergy of the creative brain and heart. Each of the four fantasy flowers are hand cut from a variety of patterned papers according to stencils I researched and designed. Layered on vintage plant textbook pages, they are embellished with buttons and the title free-motion stitched on organza. They are then backed with vividly colored fabric.
