This thing is really strong and stable!!
This tripod is really sturdy more than I thought. But before I have it on my hands I believed I could used on a trip out of town. But it is too heavy to carry it out a whole day with the rest of my stuff on my back. However it will be okay on short rrips when my car is near. Anyway it is a great purchase at very good price.

Sturdy, well engineered, high quality tripod that weighs less than a brick
I bought this for use with a spotting scope: a Celestron 100 mm, so it's relatively heavy and bulky, weighing in at 5 lb. I was concerned to get a tripod that could handle it. So far, it has been great. The ball head can lock it sufficiently tightly that it can hold a downward or upward tilt. A disconcerting feature of a ball head, however, is that it releases the scope in all directions, so it tends to fall over sideways if you want to tilt. I found the solution is to make sure the scope is balanced for and aft , and to keep some friction on the ball head so that you can push it up and down, but it doesn't flop over sideways like it does when you release the ball had completely. The engineering is clever. The legs fold at their midpoint and come up outward in reverse flexion. The result is the leg is half as long when it's time to put it in the bag. The carrying bag is ample and there is no problem getting it to zip, as there is in other tripods. There is minimum plastic in this tripod. What little there is, for example the leg clamps, seems fairly rugged. The ball head is aluminum, not plastic, so it should take a fair amount of tightening without cracking or warping. The telescoping legs are grooved so that all of the clamps stay lined up rather than rotating around in various positions behind and out of reach. So far, I have found that with my scope balanced properly this tripod remains where I put it. There is a tendency to wiggle when touching the scope, for example when focusing. This is to be expected on any tripod except the most rugged and heavy. The oscillation dampens out very quickly, however, so when you let go of the scope and proceed with viewing, the image is rocksteady.Overall, this is an excellent tripod. I would rather, in retrospect, have one that doesn't have a ball head, but I think the work around of keeping a little friction on it will eliminate the surprises.Update after a week: the ball head is a frustration. With a 5 lb scope on it, it needs to be tightened very tightly. Loosening to tilt requires vigilance, and it still tends to flop over to the side with repeated adjusting of the tilt. The pan funcion is good when loose. If you tighten it moderately however, it tends to loosen to head screw, then the head wobbles. It doesn't seem possible to tighten the head sufficiently to avoid having panning loosen to head. Finally, it would be much much more convenient to have a wand to adjust the friction, so it would be easier to point the scope. This ball head is fine for a camera, but it is inconvenient for a spotting scope. I will likely return this and look for something more scope-friendly. Overall, for a camera or phone, it is well-engineered. A scope must be perfectly balanced and carefully used. This tripod can do the job, if you have the patience. I like the legs and bottom half. If I could swap for a 2-axis wand-adjusting head, I would do it.

Great product for the price
This is probably the nicest non name brand tripod I’ve ever used. That being said, I should note that I’m not a professional photographer and have only really used about two or three tripods prior to this one, but this one is better than all of those by a mile. The tripod comes in a nice bag with a carrying handle and a half-length sipper to hold the tripod and the various extra parts that come with it. You get the tripod, a cell phone holder attachment, a blue tooth remote control (that only works with cell phones), an instruction manual, a hex wrench to tighten the tension in the foldable legs, and the option of three rubber feet and three aluminum “spike” feet. The tripod body is hollow aluminum which is great for reduced weight. Each of the three legs is telescoping in three sections allowing for an insane amount of height adjustment. The main single tube body of the unit is also telescoping but you don’t get too much height in the main body, but you do get some. A word on this main tube body: be careful with it! When this tripod arrived I read through the short instructions and then went about messing about with it. I unscrewed the tension knob to the main tube and pulled up to see how much extra height the main body could extend. Without any force at all the inner tube came flying out of the larger main tube and two or three plastic parts came flying out and one of them broke in half. I tried my best to put it all back together but had no luck. Luckily I was able to return the damaged unit to Amazon for a replacement tripod that came very quickly. Again, just be gentle with the main tube body of the tripod and hopefully this won’t happen to you.Once you get your telescoping legs to the perfect height and adjust the main body for height if needed you’re left to attach your camera or phone to start taking pictures. At the top of the main tubular body is an all metal mount that starts with a large ball joint that moves freely to almost any angle you could need and then locks solidly in position using the large metal knob on the side. The whole ball joint itself can rotate 360º in place and then it too locks down securely using the smaller metal knob on the side. That rotating head also has degree markings and an arrow marker so you can set a numerical position if need be. On top of the ball joint rests an all metal mounting plate. The metal mounting plate is actually two pieces secured by another metal knob that pinches the inner plate when tightened and allows the inner plate to be completely removed when loosened. Once the inner plate is removed you can attach it to your DSLR camera mount or the cell phone mount included with the kit. Once mounted slide the inner plate in the outer mount and tighten the screw down to secure the whole thing. The mount also has a tiny bubble level on the edge which is great if your whole tripod is off level.Once fully extended this tripod is extremely tall. I tried to convey the height as best I could by using the wide angle lens on my iPhone and show that the tripod towers over my refrigerator! Another cool feature that is touted in the sellers description and photos is the ability to remove the entire central tube separate than the leg body and invert the central tube. As the sellers photos show, this allows you to mount your camera very low to the ground while inverted and take some unique perspective photos. I haven’t used this feature to take any photos, but I was able to CAREFULLY (see my prior note of warning) remove the center tube to invert it, lock it down, then undo the procedure and put it back to “normal” with no issues. While I’ll almost certainly be using this tripod to take some great landscape photos, night photos, and family portraits, I mainly ordered this tripod to use it as a laser level tripod due to its ability to extend to very high heights. I have a professional laser level that I use frequently when building shelves, hanging pictures, or any number of other uses. I have a very cheap tripod I’ve been using for a while now but it only extends to about 4-5 feet in height and it always lets me down when I need much more height. I’m happy to say this tripod is absolutely perfect for what I needed: height! This allows me to get my laser lines almost to the ceiling in most of my rooms, especially in the basement where I’m building shelves for a pantry. The strength of the aluminum lends confidence when you have your laser level, cell phone, or DSLR attached and that’s always a good thing.I am so pleasantly surprised with this tripod for all my various needs. I appreciate all the metal used in the construction for the relatively low price point. The tripod does utilize plastic bits in some areas but there is definitely more metal used in construction than would be expected. The main feature for me is the ability to extend to very high heights. I can’t imagine a better tripod for your needs especially at this price point. I am knocking off star due to the fact that my first one broke right out of the bag. Even though I was able to get a replacement, this shouldn’t happen. Even still, I can very much recommended this to you. I hope this review was helpful to you in some way. Cheers!
