Western Digital Caviar SE 80GB SATA WD800JD 7.2K Hard Drive

I purchased this hard drive as a used unit to replace my Dell Dimension 3000 drive that suddenly gave me the dreaded, CLICK of DEATH. The unit came meticulously wrapped in a protective static resistant bag and was completely formatted. I replaced the drive and installed a Windows XP operating system. The price was great and I have always had good luck with the used products I purchase from Amazon sellers. The hard drive has been working perfectly for over one week now and I couldn’t be more satisfied.

I Purchase this Hard Drive as to test another system on an old PC. I like using WD hard drive be cause of the few problems I have encountered with them. The warranty and price were also a big factor in this hard drive choice. The computer runs great.

The drive is fully functional, and installs in seconds - more time was spent moving cables around and screwing the drive in that was spent actually connecting it.However, 80GB is awfully small for a modern hard drive - Windows (and associated updates) takes up almost half the drive and leaves very little room for other programs and data. I've since replaced the drive and have this as a secondary backup drive for my files, and in this purpose it works wonderfully.

I purchased this nervously, as I have never ordered any type of computer parts online before. I received an older 2007 desktop computer from work and they had removed the hard drive first. I have the restore CD and was anxiously waiting for the hard drive to arrive to see if it would all work out. AND IT DID! (I ordered the exact hard drive that was originally in the computer). As soon as I plugged in the hard drive and replaced the cover, turned the pc on and put the restore disc in, it started working its magic!I have since ordered two more of the exact same hard drives for my 2 children's desktops I received from work as well, and for less than $70 total, I have three "new" computers for our household! SO HAPPY!

Well first off I ordered a Western Digital Caviar SE and I got a Seagate Barracuda. That isn't even what I ordered... So initially I was already disappointed due to the fact that the last Seagate I owned had a much shorter life than I anticipated but I decided to give it a try. So other than the hard drive being slow (which is to be expected since it is a SATA I and I am used to SATA III) and somewhat noisy it died on me after a month. Needless to say I am disappointed and I think this could have been avoided had I been given the correct hard drive.

Bought this drive to replace a smaller drive on older computer. This one is my main now and works as expected. For the price this makes a great main or second drive. I have always had good luck with Western Digital drives...

I was looking for a cheap hard drive to use for reformatting an older PC. This HD worked perfectly!Stores don't carry smaller HD's anymore. The cheapest I could find were maybe 500GB, which would be hilarious if I installed it in a computer used for basic computer needs.
