WELL BUILT is billed as a second chance story with animosity and forbidden love (Yes, pleeeze!!!), so I was psyched for passionate verbal skirmishes followed by even more fiery physical “tussles”. It delivered on the latter, but not so much the former.Usually a second chance romance where a harsh breakup caused the couple to purposely avoid each other for 10 yrs. would be contentious and require a lot of explaining and groveling. Frankly, the back and forth animosity that creates tension and usually ends with some explosive sexy times is my favorite part. So I was surprised that this was missing here. The early, quick, almost polite resolution left me confused and extremely needy. Although I can’t say that for the couple. They did get their smexxy on many times, which did not leave any of us feeling needy except to want more of that hotness.Gotta admit I had a tough time connecting to the main characters. Maybe that was due to the book synopsis, which described Ella as sassy and smart-mouthed. Unless my definition is completely different, I found her neither. Quite the opposite, in fact. She was a mass of contradictions that kept me constantly trying to get a read on her. One moment she was in a mousey panic and the next bold and brazen. It was quite frustrating.Kyle. Oh Kyle. He, too, was a contradiction. He certainly had his sweet moments that sucked me in and had me believing he was at last reformed. Then BAM! Out burst an alpha comment or move that destroyed all his previous goodness. I have absolute zero tolerance for that “You woman. Mine. Don't talk to another male.” thing he had going on half the time. I’m a picky reader when it comes to heroes, so I fully expect my opinion to be in the minority. If alphas are your crack, you’re gonna love him.While not my favorite Book Boyfriend story, Well Built is a good contribution to the series and well worth the read. I enjoyed seeing the main characters from the previous books and look forward to Conner’s story. A hero who prefers relationships to hookups is unusual and refreshing. I can’t wait to see where the authors take his story.3.5 stars

It can be read as a stand-alone book, but the couples from the first two books make a brief appearance.Kyle Coleman and Ella Fisher were secret high school sweethearts, each other's first, and had hopes for a future together. Kyle's Dad was the town drunk, his brother trouble looking for a place to happen. Ella's father owned the grocery store in her small town. Ella was the good girl to her sister's wild child. One awful night Ella's sister miscarried, named Kyle's brother as her baby daddy, and her Dad had a stroke. Angry words were exchanged that tore the lovers apart. Kyle left for Chicago. Ella stayed to run the family business, giving up her plans for college.Ten years later, Kyle still comes home to visit his Mom who bakes for and works as a waitress in the local diner. The building next to Fisher Grocery is for sale. Kyle wants to buy it and use his skills as a home and commercial redeveloper to build a business for his Mom that will have a bakery, catering and a location for special events. Ella wants the same building to expand the grocery store to have a marketplace for locally made items and foods.This second chance love story takes place starting at the auction for the building and the first time Kyle and Ella have seen each other in ten years. Neither is willing to let go of their vision for the building easily. Sometimes first love is also the last love. Can these star-crossed lovers find a way through the past hurt to build a future together? See if City Boy can sweep his Sunshine off her feet again.

Aber leider nicht unter den besten Vorraussetzungen. Es wird wieder spannend, auch diese Geschichte ist wieder sehr toll erzählt, heiß und liebevoll.

This was an ok read. I found it hard to get my head around a reserved heroine who balked at being around the city environment, was quite timid but then became all dirty talk and suggestive with the man who broke her heart 10 years earlier. And it was just like they fell straight back into things with each other. The second half was better and it was an ok read but not one I would pick up again. I didn't feel like I connected to the hero or heroine. Just my opinion- lots of positives out there from other readers.
