Would this boost the cell signal for my Verizon MIFI?

Yes it will. I have a Netgear nighthawk M6 pro and it will improve the signal. That being said I actually purchased the MiMo cables and a omnidirectional external antenna because it actually performs better then with the booster alone. My IPhone does have the best performance with the booster. The booster needs proper separation from the indoor and outdoor antennas for best performance which in a 5th wheel I really don’t have.

Does this require an outside antenna?

It has an indoor antenna and an outdoor antenna. I have temporarily set the outdoor up in my attic and the indoor on first floor and it has been working fine. I do plan on placing the antenna outside as soon as I get the chance.

I'd like to be able to turn off/on bands depending on the carrier. Which models allow you to save settings to turn on/off bands?

I don't believe any model can unless you buy a specific Verizon or Sprint only cell booster.
