New hams, this is what you're looking for
There are 1000 of these under different unpronounceable names. Ideally they should all be identical owing to the software being open-source, but Chinese manufacturing tolerances being what they are...I got this one, and it does everything it's supposed to with no reliability issues.Protip: There is a lot of half-baked documentation out there for these so there's a learning-curve; that said, get nanovna-saver from GitHub, install it on a laptop, and forget about navigating the onboard interface unless you have a stylus for a resistive touchscreen and a lot of patience (think "Android 1.6"). The menus do work, but when it comes to calibration and getting the results you want, doing it on a laptop makes things a bunch easier.

Quality Product
I have only had this device for a short time (< 1 week.) It works very well. The unit I received has a metal shield around the RF components. Measurements I have made are repeatable over several days and turn-on cycles. Free software is available on the internet which adds good functionality to the device. There is a users group for the nanoVNA at [email protected] if you want to learn more about these devices. Dynamic range of the device appears to be as good or better than their claim. I have compared measurements with this device and a more expensive VNA and the measurements from this nanoVNA compare well.My device came with a calibration kit and the calibration in the device in memory 0 when I received it came from the calibration kit I received. I measured the calibration kit on another VNA and the calibration devices are good quality.I am quite happy with my nanoVNA from AURSINC.

Yes, it really is what it says it is! Awesome
You'll want to google it when you receive it, cause there are no instructions. (Though it's pretty darn intuitive if you've used other vna's.) There is a HUGE user community and a lot of options. There's NANOVNASHARP software available for PC and Linux, if you want to use your PC to control it. Works fine standalone. Comes with dummy plugs and open plugs, and passthrough cables. You'll probably want to buy adapters to get connected to big coax cables. It does everything my $700 vna does, and more. This one tool covers HF, VHF, and UHF. Very nifty. The photo is a simple SWR chart for one of my fan antennas. Awesome results about ten minutes out of the box. Would have only taken five if I had watched any of the YouTube tutorials first. Nice bit of kit. Compact, battery powered, and USB chargeable.

Great device, good quality, all advertised parts included
I received the device with the August firmware which I have since upgraded. All the advertised parts (shield, battery, calibration kit) were included, unlike some other clones here. The version I got did not include the battery level diode (which wasn't supported by the August firmware anyway). I may try to add it later. This is a fantastically complex device, but it was easy to get started with it.Directions are not included, you have to get those from the open source forums that are developing it.Check the forums for firmware updates and instructions on how to unlock additional functionality!

Solid version of the NanoVNA
I purchased this to be my primary analyzer for my shack as well as testing custom antennas built for friends and amateur radio club members. This little thing is a real workhorse. The NanoVNA Saver software works perfectly on Windows, Mac and Linux. I've even taken this little thing with me on various SOTA and contesting expeditions as a field analyzer. It's a little bit fragile in that regard so you'll want to take care while using it in the field but the internal battery makes it otherwise very well suited for the job. I can't recommend this product enough.

Awesome
This sort of equipment used to cost thousands and sit on a bench. Thanks to edy555 for initially designing and developing the software and to the huge user community to put this into a device smaller than a cell phone. Many uses for this. I am guessing most folks first try using it for antennas and coax testing. Pretty self explanatory and there is a one page instruction sheet included outlining the menu system. If you need instruction there are several, high quality, step-by-steps for this purpose on youtube. Using a plastic tipped device like a pen or guitar pick is easier than fingers on the touchscreen. Expect at least 40 dB dynamics at 900MHz and 1.5 GHz. This has 3.4 firmware when I received it today. It is upgradeable as new firmware is developed.

pratique
