1.25 LBS Real Dried Forest Moss for Potted Plants, Plant Propagation

This is a fantastic product. I ordered in the 2.1 lbs. They come in individual bricks. I have used only two so far in flower containers to hide the dirt making them visibly more attractive. I have read some comments about the smell. The smell is the smell of algae or an eco natural process. Also, they send a sweet note of thanks and information on the family product and more plus 15% off your next purchase. That’s a win win!! I was extremely impressed. I took one brick at a time in a large bowl and started covering it with water then began shredding the material with my hands and stopped once the product had evenly absorbed. It actually consumed the entire salad bowl. I was highly impressed and will definitely repurchase. On another note, I believe it will keep moisture in my plants even cool for these dry summers.

Best moss that I think I've used. As someone who has used moss for decades creating baskets, topiaries and so on, this is great. It's easy to work with and rehydrates in a pinch. The smaller blocks mean I dont have a huge mess. It's easy to flake off what I need and leave the rest in the package.

BUY THIS! This is the most quality Moss I've ever touched. It smells like Earth and no fishy smell at all. It's firm anda quality that I've just never seen. It's even beautiful to look at. Rich, bright and earthy color! Don't be fooled by the little block, that thing expands like you could never imagine. One of the little tiny blocks (amd there are 2 blocks in a brick) expanded into an entire gallon. So I guess technically you get 2 gallons for a brick. I am so excited about this product. Sometimes I sell my plants and this just makes them look so much more attractive.

I really like this moss for my orchids. It looks natural and clean and instantly makes the pots look nicer and more put-together. It's not as green in color as I was expecting but does a great job as a top layer and helps keep moisture in without looking messy. Just a heads up as there is a strong woodsy scent when you mist and fluff the moss, but it fades after the moss dries. Product comes as a hard block. A little goes a loooong way, especially when using it just as a topper. I bought the 5oz size but probably could have used the smaller 2 oz. Overall, it’s a solid buy and I think its perfect for my needs.

I'm not sure what I was expecting for $10, but this was a pleasant surprise! I was wanting some moss to put around the base of a fake ficus so that one didn't just see a gaping planter with a plastic tree base inside. This moss came in such a small package that I was afraid it might not be enough. Within seconds of soaking it in warm water, it rehydrated into a massive pile of gorgeous moss. I am delighted with my finished project! In case it might matter to someone, I do want to mention that the rise water was very murky, so rinse well. Also, rehydrating released what I found to be a wonderful earthy smell like walking in a forest after a rain, but someone else might not care for it as much as I did. Overall, excellent quality and a great value! My Star Scale: 5 Stars: I love everything about it! 4 Stars: Room for improvement but still a great buy! 3 Stars: Has potential but may not be everyone's cup of tea. 2 Stars: Worked okay but wouldn't buy again. 1 Star: Don't waste your money.

Oh, this is the very best! I have purchased this product 4 times so far, and I’m very happy with it. The moss is very fluffy, so air passes through easily. Unlike other sphagnum moss I’ve used, I’ve never had any mold issues with this product. The price is also very good for the quality. I just soak it in water for about 5 minutes, and it’s ready to use. Very convenient and reliable. Highly recommended!

Looks like a good product, but it is NOT sphagnum moss at all. This is NOT suitable for a moss pole, it does not retain water anywhere near as well as sphagnum moss does. It dries out and "frills out" like a wet rope that's left to dry rather than acting like a sponge the way sphagnum moss does. As a decorative item this might be useful but I bought it to fill a moss pole and it does a terrible job of it, holding only enough water to stay moist for at most 24 hours.

This is the second time I have purchased the product. Be aware it smells like a pond or lake when you first add water but after a few days the smell is gone. I love the way it looks around my plants. And it does help the potting soil retain moisture. I will buy again.

Expands! I took 1/6 of the package (half of 3 layers) poured water and fluffed it. I will update the review if any issues discovered later on.

Bought to repot my orchids, just what I needed.

Fairly long consistent strands 2-3”. Other brands at this price are generally odds and ends under an inch. Just soak for an hour and then rinse a few times to get rid of the tannins.

This moss, is a great product, and works great with my bonsai projects
