Accurate and Reliable HR Monitor – A Great One-Time Investment
I’ve been using the Garmin HRM-Pro Plus for the past 10 days with my Garmin Fenix 7X, primarily for running and CrossFit, and I’ve been really impressed with its performance. If you’re looking for a reliable heart rate monitor that delivers consistent results, this is a fantastic option. Accurate Heart Rate Tracking: The HR data is very accurate and consistent. I’ve compared the readings with my Whoop 4.0 (bicep strap), and the numbers are nearly identical. Unlike the Whoop wrist strap, which often underestimates heart rate in higher zones (4-5), the HRM-Pro Plus delivers precise readings across all intensity levels. One-Time Payment – A Major Advantage: One of the best aspects of the HRM-Pro Plus is that it’s a one-time purchase. With Whoop’s subscription model, costs add up over time, but with Garmin, you pay once and enjoy the benefits without any ongoing fees. This was a big factor in my decision to switch to Garmin as my main HR monitor. Learning Curve with the App: The only downside I’ve encountered is the Garmin Connect app interface. It’s not the most intuitive and takes a bit of time to get used to. However, once you get past the learning curve, it’s manageable. In Summary: I’m extremely satisfied with the Garmin HRM-Pro Plus and plan to make it my primary HR monitor for workouts. Given that my Fenix 7X already does an excellent job tracking sleep and recovery, I’m confident I can retire my Whoop altogether. If you’re looking for accuracy, consistency, and a solid alternative to subscription-based fitness trackers, this is a great choice.

There are cheaper HR strap options out there, but it's more than just an HRM.
Bought to replace a very ancient Garmin HRM which was detachable and I had replaced the strap with third party options on a couple of occasions. This new one is the ultimate HRM if you've got a Garmin and Amazon prices are competitive. It's wider than my old one and more comfortable as a result. However the unit is not detachable so if the elastic goes or starts to smell, then you'll need to replace the whole thing which is a shame. That said, it seems very robust and, despite my scepticism, following the guidelines by rinsing under the tap after each use and in mild detergent every 7 days seems pretty effective and there is no smell whatsoever. The device needs to be registered as a device in Garmin Connect which means that it monitors battery life and delivers any software upgrades. You also pair it with your device and I've had rock solid automatic connections whenever I've launched an activity, and it seamlessly disconnects and reverts to the wrist based HR when I come out - I often had to manually pair the old one on each occasion so that's a big improvement. In addition to HR, it also captures Running Dynamics so if you've got an older watch that doesn't have this natively, you'll see Stride Length, Ground Contact Time, Vertical Oscillation, etc in your Garmin Connect record. It also captures Left/Right balance which watches don't do and that is a useful metric. Although the fact that I get more wear on the left heel of my shoes would also tell me the same thing, but only after a few hundred miles of running and possible injury risk! Although all this information is there for any brand of watch, in practice only Garmin devices actually display it. It may well justify the high price of the HRM Pro+, but really only if you have a Garmin product. Although I've not tested it, it is also capable of storing HR data and then downloading it to the watch later - for example if you are swimming. It can also help with treadmill running where you can't use GPS to estimate distance and speed. So in summary, this is one of the most expensive HRMs out there, but worth it if you want the extra features and you have a Garmin. Otherwise, save some money and look elsewhere.

Good improvements - Bluetooth connectivity, screwless battery compartment and more
As an upgrade from the older HRM Run, the HRM-Pro Plus offers a number of improvements. The Bluetooth connectivity is a standout feature, allowing easy pairing with your Garmin device and providing real-time battery level information. The screwless battery door is a convenient touch, eliminating the hassle of dealing with tiny screws that can rust and break over time. While the standalone function isn’t particularly useful for most runners who typically wear a watch, the ability to pair with other apps via Bluetooth could be a valuable feature for those who prefer a different app ecosystem. The strap itself is comfortable and fits securely, offering a similar experience to the HRM Run. While I haven’t conducted scientific tests, the HR accuracy seems to be on par with other Garmin heart rate monitors. Overall, the HRM-Pro Plus is a solid upgrade over the HRM Run, especially if you can find a good deal during a sale like Black Friday. The Bluetooth connectivity and screwless battery door make it a more convenient and durable option. However, if you're on a budget, the HRM Run is still a capable heart rate monitor.

Key bit of kit
If you are serious about tracking your fitness, a chest strap is an essential bit of kit for exercising. While you may have a watch with a built in function, it won’t give you accurate results. Plus this model gives you useful extra info on things like running cadence so if good if you want to geek out or work on your running form. This works and is waterproof so great for running and swimming. Depending on offers at the time, you’ll pay anything between £70 and £100 for this. That’s on the pricey side IMO but my Garmin Tri heart strap gave up the ghost after about 3 years of moderate usage so I bought this to replace it. I paid the lower end of the scale, so if I get three years out of it I’ll consider it decent value.

Garmin quality at it’s best
Never been disappointed with Garmin’s products. The HRM-Pro Plus doesn’t disappoint either. You have a very comfortable heart rate strap that can pair with most devices. It’s as accurate as any other device on the market, but you get a better quality of materials and design from Garmin. Can’t fault it in anyway and have used it consistently paired to Zwift for indoor and my Garmin head unit for outdoor use. You won’t be disappointed.

One of my best purchases
My wife had had a medical procedure after a heart issue, and her Fitbit was still producing worrying heart rates. Bought this, and it became clear that the procedure had probably worked, and the Fitbit was sometimes giving false results. So an excellent purchase - really eased her worries. But stopped working after 6 weeks - replacing the battery fixed this, so shipped with a rather poor battery. Edit: this was eating through batteries, and we no longer use it. But it served its purpose, which we'll always be grateful for. It could have been even better, though!

Accurate and reliable
Great Product from Garmin, I use it 5+ days a week and it's never let me down. I've used it for multiple marathons and Ironman Austria last year, so swam with it under my Tri suit and worked faultlessly. My Garmin Fenix 6X Optical HR is questionable, but this is sport on. My only gripe is there is nothing grippy to hold it up, so I have to wet the whole strap to get it to stick, otherwise it slips down until I'm starting to sweat.

Works really well
A fantastic addition to any runner's toolkit, this HRM is both accurate and functional and connects very quickly to my coros watch which is obviously a different brand from garmin, showing its connectivity and also its bluetooth capacity. It is also worth noting that I believe the chest strap is far more accurate than the arm hrm that coros uses and if you are a coros user, I would highly recommend getting this HRM.

Poor
Integration with the watch is really poor. The watch doesn't seem to handle well not having the strap on, leading to long and interrupted syncing on those occasions or activities. When you are wearing it, the recording occasionally fails for no apparent reason with no way of diagnosing what went wrong. Very frustrating. Wake up Garmin, you have lost your way. Think about Psion, Palm, blackberry, Nokia. Feels like Garmin have the same existential problem....

One of the best accessories Garmin has.
Behold, the Garmin HRM-Pro Plus – the love child of a heart rate monitor and a fitness guru! This isn't just a strap; it's the VIP pass to the exclusive party of my heartbeats. It's like having a personal fitness cheerleader, transmitting real-time data to my Garmin 935 faster than I can say 'I need more steps.' But wait, there's more! It's not just about heartbeats; it's a running dynamics maestro, capturing my every stride like a fitness paparazzo. It knows more about my running form than I do – vertical oscillation, ground contact time, stride length – it's practically my running therapist. And guess what? It even computes pace and distance for my treadmill endeavors. Move over, math; Garmin's got this! Swimming? No problem. This strap is like the Aquaman of heart rate monitors, storing data underwater and sending it to my watch once I'm back on dry land. It's so aquatic, I'm half expecting it to join synchronized swimming competitions. And don't get me started on the battery life – up to a year! It outlasts my resolutions to eat more kale. The tool-free quarter-turn battery door is like the Batman utility belt of durability – easy to use and ready for any fitness adventure. In conclusion, the Garmin HRM-Pro Plus is not just a heart rate monitor; it's a fitness sidekick, a data superhero, and a workout bestie. Move over, ordinary HRMs; Garmin's here to turn my heartbeats into a fitness symphony!

Excelente produto
