Wonderful scooter and easy to assemble.
Shipping time was spot on. Was placed in our garage on its crate. Was in perfect condition. From opening box and unpacking to assembling the scooter it took only 36 minutes. And I’m an old female. My husband was impressed. Had a small charge on it so I tested it and it’s fast. I love it. We did receive a bill for shipping which we were confused since shipping was free. However, called Golden Technologies and they said they were unsure why we were billed but not to worry they would take care of it. All we had to do was send them the bill. So we did and all is well. Very impressed by this company. Excellent customer service. Even received follow up call to make sure we were happy with everything. Seat is very comfortable. I left the arms off because didn’t feel as if I needed them and it makes getting on and off easy. I like the tilt of the steering wheel for different height people. Great turning radius. Our buzz a round has made its first trip to Fl. Now I can scoot around the RV parks with ease. I’ve only rode it on paved streets and a wooden pier and it does great. And of course I had to decorate it with AUburn decals. War Eagle!

GOLDEN BUZZAROUND EXTREME IS BETTER THAN MOST
I knew I wanted a mobility scooter after I rented a Pride Go Go for a week. It was one the provider had that was about 10 years old and very small. It did get me around, but it was small, slow, rough riding and didn't go very long on a charge. But I had a blast with my granddaughter who is 7! She got her little scooter, and I got mine, and we had so much fun I knew I had to get one! I researched all the scooters for over 2 months including Pride, Drive, and several others online. It's hard to find the scooters at providers so I had to do a lot of research on the specifications--very important. I paid attention to size of batteries, suspension, and size of motors and warranties. I found out that the manufacturers had a 2 year warranty ON PARTS ONLY! None of them carry warranties on labor even if it breaks down the first month. There are 2 ways to go with this in mind either buy from a local provider who supplies service or an online provider who provides in-home service At the end of my search I happened to see a Golden Buzzaround and thought that I would do the research and found out that there was a brand new model that had suspension (important), long battery capacity and a bigger motor which makes for a faster speed. Most go tops at 4 mph, but the Extreme goes 5 mph which is very noticeable. Think of it is 20% faster than the regular scooters. I finally ordered it online when I found a provider who was providing a Golden service contract for 3 years at NO EXTRA CHARGE! In addition they had a promotion to throw in a cart ($145) for FREE! That did it. I purchased it and have had it for about a week. It's a DREAM! It's fast, comfortable and has long battery life. It's more than the cheap ones you can get, but well worth the extra cost. As far as the service I haven't had any problems. If I do I'll update this Review. I got the 4-wheel for more stability although the turning radius is wider than the 3-wheel. Hey, I know how to back up!UPDATE April 6, 2017Have had the scooter for about 6 months and still REALLY LIKE IT! This one has a bigger and more powerful motor than many others. It is very reliable, and I can believe it goes 5 mph. My granddaughter on her scooter bumped into me, and the seat lever fell off. Must have hit it in a particular angle. I called Top Mobility and within in a day a man from Golden Technologies called and said he was going to send out a new seat instead of having come out to look at it. About a week later the new seat arrived, and I put it on, and it's doing fine again. I'm very impressed with the 3-year in-home service that Top Mobility included in the sale of the scooter.UPDATE February 3, 2017Have had the scooter for a few months and am enjoying it IMMENSELY! The batteries are great. Took it one day for an all day ride at a local RV show, and batteries lasted with no problem. Manual directs owner to plug it in when you get finished and keep the batteries charged up. I'm going by the book, and so far no problem. It says to not let the batteries go completely out. I took it apart and put it in the back of my Silverado pickup. Good suspension. Haven't had any trouble with it, and I've hit some pretty good bumps going over sidewalks, onramps, offramps, RR tracks. So far, so good. I still highly recommend it.Update June 3, 2020Had the scooter for 3 and one-half years. The transaxle went out last week, and I have found out that it will cost $1,000 to repair. Not worth it! As I talked to the repairman he told me that 3 or 4 years is about what to expect from these type of scooters. None of them are made in USA--only assembled here. He said figure about $1/day cost. I had a 3 year in-home service contract which ran out 6 months ago. Just after it ran out I had a front wheel bearing go out that cost me $120 to buy a new wheel from Monster Scooter parts (Golden Technologies works with this company) and now the transaxle repair. During the 3 year warranty I had to replace the seat and call a repairman out to tighten one of the wheels. Overall, it's a good scooter, and I will probably just buy a new one and get it with another 3 year in-home service contract and just figure it will cost me a $1/day to keep it running. It's worth $1/day to have the freedom that this scooter gives. Also, I just ordered a new set of batteries which haven't arrived yet. I figure that's pretty good consider that they don't warranty the batteries except 6 months to a year at the most. If I buy another one I'll have another set of batteries. (Hope they last until I need them)

Great Scooter for all day use
There are some good things about this scooter: a) the arm rests are both adjustable and removable (in fact we actually like it better without the arms and as a suggestion to Golden, ***we wish there was an alternate style of cane holder for attaching in the armrest receiver instead), b) the control panel is easy to understand and work, c) you can put the scooter in neutral to maneuver it someplace out of the way if the battery overloads and has to rest for 5 minutes befor resetting the breaker switch, d) the location of the charger port on the tiller doesn't necessitate much in the way of bending over as it is on the left under the control panel, e) it comes with two colors of plastic shrouds so if you don't feel like driving a red scooter or if something gets damaged you can switch to blue, f) the seat is roomy and comfy ( I see no need to purchase an upgraded seat for this scooter) and it pivots for easy access or use by a table, g) it has more clearnce and longer battery life than any other scooter we looked at. I am told it should do well on relatively level hard packed trails at the national park (I will come back to this and add more once I test that theory but that is what the company told me) We have already tested it at the San Diego Zoo where it took even the steep path through tiger trail without a problem, h) the battery life was great for both of the all day excursions we have gone on (zoo and a local festival), i) there is a receiver on the back of the seat to mount a cane holder or O2 tank holder or additional basket (purchased separately), j) and, you can set top speed to less than the maximum of which the scooter is capable if you wish. Some drawbacks: While my husband loves the scooter, you should be aware that... a) Unlike the Buzzaround XL model, you can't simply take out the batteries and bring them inside to charge at an outlet in addition to plugging in the charging cord to the scooter under the tiller handle to charge the batteries. You must bring the entire assembled scooter inside to the outlet in order to charge the batteries. This is somewhat inconvenient for a scooter that is primarily for outdoor use.***My suggestion to Golden engineers is that they really need to make a docking unit to plug the batteries into so you can leave everything but the batteries in the car. (like the one you put your iPhone into) We would totally buy one, b) The maximum degree of incline you can drive up is 6 degrees...but know that the instructions say you really shouldn't drive up or back down a ramp of any kind which includes to the platform you may want for transporting it on the back of your car if you need your trunk space for anything besides the scooter, c) Yes, it does break down into smaller parts for loading into your car. However, even the batteries individually are way heavy...the largest piece of the scooter is about 46 pounds and the lightest is 22. It is enough weight that my husband's bad back dictates that this scooter isn't for short shopping trips unless we break down and get that rear cargo carrier for loading it on the back of the vehicle, that we were hoping to avoid, and kind of makes the feature of breaking down into smaller pieces moot, d) Have no illusion about it's compactness for when you do break it down to put it in a trunk space. Even broken apart, it is going to occupy the entire trunk of our Prius and we had to really work at getting an arrangement that would allow for this (note comment on how to make it fit in the question section), e) Also, note that the battery range is based on a 200 pound load even though they claim total load weight of passenger and any items combined can be up to 330lbs....so don't be surprised if your range varies from the 16 miles quoted, d) Finally, the batteries aren't even a little charged when it arrives so assemble it near an outlet to charge it (12 hour charging time at least the first time by the way) and the delivery will only be to the curbside not inside your home or apartment. All in all I think any disadvantages of this scooter will be outweighed by the the positives as it will allow for all day outdoor excursions again. It is comfortable and easy to drive. We are looking forward to using it along the path that skirts the south rim of the Grand Canyon and at Disneyland and the zoo. (Note: items marked above with *** are suggestions to the manufacturing engineers, should they ever read the comments, and are not things the scooter has currently)

YOU WILL NOT REGRET THIS PURCHASE!!!!
Totally exceeded our expectations. My handicapped brother is enjoying his new found freedom and mobility. The battery life is excellent and at 5 mph he gets around the neighborhood in no time. Even walks my daughter to and from school. It’s breaks down into 4 pieces without tools and fits in our small SUV with no issues whatsoever.
