how often are you supposed to use the UV function? do you turn it on every time you run the humidifier? does anyone else use humidifier drops?

I use the UV light each time I turn the humidifier on. I've purchased both the drops and four capsules you add once a month. To be honest, I have no idea whether either of them does anything at all. I intend to test it without drops and capsules to determine if there's a difference.

Does the mist that comes out fall so the below surface get wet. We have alot of hardwood and dont want to reck it?

On this model, there are 4 mist settings. If you keep the setting on 1 or 2, the mist will not cause the floor below to get wet. It also depends how you use the misting hole. There is an extension piece that allows you to have the mist project from a higher starting point and so this should work well at all 4 levels and not cause a wet floor below. I did not use the mist extension and so my experience is keeping the mist level on 1 or 2 and this works well.
