Fritz Aquatics Slime Out Treatment for Stains from Red Cyanobacteria in Fresh or Saltwater Aquariums (20-Count)

Works great on our salt water tank

This stuff absolutely works. I saw results in less then a day. Now if fritz has something for green hair algae I'll definitely buy it too.

I have had two infestations of cyanobacteria slime in two separate tanks over the past year or so. In both cases this remedy was completely effective in removing it within a couple of weeks. The only reason I don't give this product 5 stars, is that it comes in packets of powder measured for 25 gallons. Doing a correct dose for various tank sizes is therefore trickier than it would be with a reasonable dosage measuring system. But still a great product.

Had to dose the tank that was giving me issues twice. Did so over the course of 2 weeks and forwent the water change the second time for a few days. It NUKED the green skin algae that moved in while I was on vacation (power went out and reset my light timers. Other tanks were fine but one ended up with the dreaded pond muck for some reason). It worked great in removing it. It all melted away over the course of a few days once it started working. Didn't harm my plants or snails either. Simple as mixing into some water and pouring into the tank. It even ended up cleaning my white sand of the greenish dusting of algae it had, which was nice. Just be careful if you have plecos, mystery snails, or anything else that relies on algae growth for food. You may need to supplement their diets more than normal when all the algae disappears.

I have a 65g freshwater aquarium that had a massive Cyano outbreak. The slime would coat everything in the tank, and after removing it, it would be back in less than a week just the same. In desperation I purchased this product and wow, it worked like magic. I first cleaned out as much of the Cyano as possible, and then used two pouches. It comes in a powder that I mixed with some aquarium water and poured it in. Did a 25% water change two days later and the Cyano disappeared. A month later still no sign of it. I have shrimp, angles, clown loaches, and live plants and no adverse effects. Even my good algae was fine. Highly recommended.

I had blue green algae, cyanobacteria in my freshwater aquarium. Nasty stuff. Used this product once. It works. I was so happy because cyanobacteria grow quickly and was starting to take over my tank! The aquarium is heavily planted and has fish. Product worked only on the cyanobacteria, plants and fish were not harmed. Fish didn't even seem to notice. It's a good product and I recommend it for removing cyanobacteria.

Been working for 2 years to get the blue/green scum out of my 100 gallon aquarium. In the past, even tried a product that killed most of my fish. Highly recommend SLIME OUT as both curative and maintenance chemical.

I tried this product to get rid of some cyano bacteria build up that was happening in one of my tanks. Followed the instructions with water changes but it did nothing. So I tried it again without water changes and the cyano was gone. Unfortunately, it didn't stay that way and it has come back again.

Schon einige Mittel ausprobiert, die nichts gebracht haben. 1x dieses Mittel in das Aquarium (1.600 Liter) gegeben und seitdem keine einzige Schmieralge mehr gesehen (und das seit Monaten). Ich würde es wieder nutzen. Den Fischen geht es übrigens auch weiterhin gut :-)
