Broken out of the box

The handle for the screw was broken out of the box, and I had to file down the end of the main axel because there were spurs preventing the hand crank from fitting on.

Cheap, only good in one direction.

The mounting plate tilts slightly when switching directions. You have to mount the force tester for either upwards movement or downwards movement. This is not a quality or highly accurate item. It is, however, the cheapest force test stand I could find. I bought this because I didn't have thousands of dollars for a highly precise test stand, and I needed something immediately for my senior project. I was able to get some useful measurements with this stand, and it did an OK job.

MEDIDOR

Seems accurate, construction feels sturdy; not very intuitive menu structure

I like this force gauge for the most part. It seems accurate, but the menu structure is relatively complicated.I don't have a proper lab scale, or a certified and calibrated scale to test the accuracy of this force gauge. I only have highly accurate scales in the range of 10lbs or less. As such, I could only use my bathroom scale and a shipping scale to test the accuracy of this gauge. I measured a 50lb weight on all the scales, and this weight came out to between 51.2 and 51.5lbs on all three of the measurement devices. They are all in very close agreement, and I believe them to all be quite accurate. The build construction seems to be about as good as I would expect here. It has a relatively stout metal body, which is nice to see. The joints and finishing isn't perfect, but I wasn't expecting that on a tool at this price point. It works just fine so far. I have only taken it up to 200lbs, and it held that perfectly fine with no flex in the body. There is a plastic plug over the charging port. I am not sure why that is there -- it's not like this instrument is dust or moisture resistant -- the USB and serial connections on the bottom are fully exposed with no covers...I also wish this instrument had a second threaded connection on the bottom. If so, I could attach a second hook to the bottom of this instrument and have it hanging up. There isn't a very good way of securing this instrument to a hook or a jig right now (unless I missed something). The best way I can think of right now is to drill a hole through a steel plate, stick the threaded force sensor stud through the plate, and secure the relevant attachment to the end of the stud. The main thing that needs work is the menu structure. There are a few sub-menus you can navigate to change things like alarm setpoints, data storage, etc. (my unit shipped with a 110lb alarm value, which is why I needed to change it -- I couldn't figure out why this thing kept alarming at me in the lbs scale, but not kg or N scale). If you read the manual, you will find out you have to hold the send button for three seconds to enter a submenu for alarm setpoints and various other features. A few of these features do not have a good explanation in the manual, and I still don't really know what they do (one is labelled upper limit comparison value, and one is labelled alarm comparison value -- they were both set originally to 110lbs and I don't know what the difference is between them). Without the user manual, I would have no way of figuring out these different sub-menus. I don't think it would be that hard for them to add secondary print above each button to indicate what their alternate functions are.
