COLORCHARM Demi Permanent Hair Color - Gloss, Refresh & Tone - 2 Fl Oz

I’ve been coloring my hair at home since I was 15, and this is one of the few I genuinely feel confident recommending. I used Wella Color Charm with a custom mix of half 8N (Light Natural Blonde) and half 8G (Light Golden Blonde) and a 10 volume developer, applied with a bowl and brush, and the results honestly look like I had it done professionally. For reference, I started with medium auburn brown hair and visible grays around my part and hairline. My goal wasn’t a dramatic color change, I wanted to blend grays, soften my overall tone, and add some warmth and dimension. Why this formula worked: The 8N gave me reliable gray coverage, while the 8G added warmth so the result didn’t look flat or overly ashy. I used a 10 volume developer to be as gentle as possible, and it kept the result very natural. Application: I mixed everything in a bowl and applied with a brush to dry, sectioned hair. The liquid formula spreads very easily, which makes it great for even coverage, but it also means sectioning is important to stay controlled. Using a brush gave me a lot of precision, especially around my hairline where I have the most grays. The scent is definitely “salon-like,” but not overwhelming. Processing: I left it on for about 30 minutes, making sure the roots were fully saturated. No heat, I just popped it in a shower cap and went about my morning. Results: The color came out soft, dimensional, and really natural-looking. It doesn’t look like a flat box dye at all. The blend of neutral and gold tones is just right, warm without being brassy. Gray coverage was excellent, especially in the front. Everything blended seamlessly. I included a before-and-after photo because that’s always what helps me most when choosing a color. The difference in tone, shine, and overall polish is noticeable without looking overdone. Hair condition: My hair feels soft, smooth, and healthy, not dry or brittle. It actually looks shinier after coloring. Longevity: After several washes, the color is holding evenly with no patchiness or unwanted tones developing. Things to keep in mind: -This is a more “pro-style” product, so you’ll need to mix your own formula -The liquid consistency is easier to control with a bowl and brush than a bottle -Full saturation is key for the best gray coverage Overall: This combination gave me exactly what I was hoping for, natural color, dimension, and solid gray coverage with a professional-looking finish. If you’re comfortable with a more salon-style application, it’s absolutely worth it. I’ll definitely keep using this mix.

I tone my hair between salon appts. This 8n is a gorgeous color to tone brassy blonde. Its darker than how i typically get it hi lighted but still fantastic. 10n is the lightest toner shade and 1n is black. So 8n is still pretty light. Perfect color and coverage. I have gray roots and this doesn't really cover those. I use it to take brassy color away

I’ve been using this for several years now and it is easy to use and colors my hair perfectly. It saves me a lot of money as it is very expensive to go to the salon and have your hair colored.I usually buy it at Sally’s, but they never have my color there. I found this on Amazon and use the subscribe and save to get it every six weeks. I am able to get my color every time delivered right to my house. I would definitely recommend this product and the subscribe and save allows you to get and color your hair on a schedule.

Probably the easiest hair color I've used. Takes no time at all and looks very natural. It requires a 2nd ingredient (developer) that you have to buy separately but both are relatively cheap.

I’ve been using age beautiful permanent dye at home for some time but was tired of the obvious gray line that would rear its ugly head in under two weeks. ‘I am a hairdresser’ on TikTok convinced me to try demi. After a ton of research I went with Wella Colorcharm 8N. I was using 6NN in permanent but discovered I needed to go 1-2 shades lighter in demi. I’m a natural brunette that has become light brown/dark blonde. I did a test strip which was less than promising. I didn’t get good coverage but I did get an idea of how long to let it process. I did 1:2 as directed and let it process for just about 45 min. I’m guessing if I went with 7N I could have processed it for a shorter amount of time. The smell was really good. Best dye smell I’ve encountered. I had no itchiness or irritation. The consistency was perfect. I mixed it in a bottle, squirted on roots and used a brush to apply it. I was generous, albeit a bit sloppy, with my application because I didn’t want to miss any spots. Overall the initial coverage is not as good as permanent. You can still see my grays but it has softened and blended them. I’m optimistic this could be a solution. I might experiment with 1/2 8N and 1/2 7N next time. I’m curious to see how this washes out. Did absolutely NOTHING on my bleached level 9/10 hair. I mean ZERO change. very disappointing

This Demi-permanent hair color allows me to gracefully blend my grays without the harsh “skunk line.” It’s also gentle on my fine, thin hair, which is also a huge plus.

This colour is magic. It will undo whatever brass or yellow hot mess you get your hair into by attempting to bleach it at home. Yes, the result will be a bit darker than expected, but there will be 0 brassiness. Just a gorgeous chocolate brown

Really good!! I mixed it with 8G to get a honey blonde color for my hair. It came out stunning. I also love the fact that it doesn’t bleed after washing my hair unlike many box dyes do. Will be getting more.

Absolutely amazing product

Nice Demi color. Leaves hair feeling conditioned. I used to be able to get an 8A Demi color by WELLA but have t been able to source it lately. I still had a little left in the tube so I decided to order the 8N and just mix the two colors. It worked out okay. Not as brassy as I feared it would look. I don’t always trust that a neutral undertone will come out completely neutral but this one seems okay.

Always go demi permanent. I will never go back to using permanent hair color again. No more bands of faded color
