Q: Is this the 901model?

My measurement was a bit over 8 inches. Should I get a Medium or Large size? Thanks, Ray

Q: Are these ok for spring skiing? Can't tell how warm/insulated they are.

I don't ski so take that into account. I have some leather gloves with thinsulate in them and they are good for walking the dog down to about 20 degrees F. Below that I use these. I tried various ski gloves and "work" gloves and while they worked OK they had major flaws. The heavy ski gloves were just way too hard to manipulate so I was taking them off all the time for anything even slightly dextrus. The work gloves were OK but didn't breath so they would get damp and then they were worse than my lighter gloves. These gloves are stiffer than normal gloves but you can fish keys out of a pocket and unlock a door with out taking them off. They are warm to a lot colder, I was snow blowing at 5F and they worked decently. You need to seal them so they don't get wet, but the seal comes with them. And I would stick them in a low oven (150 or lower) to really let the sealing wax soak in.

Q: will they work for mig welding?

I wouldn't use them for mig welding, but that's up to you.
