If you use a hand mixer in them will they be damaged?

They are quite beautiful in different colors both inside and outside and very durable. Although, I believe a hand mixer would scrape/scratch them on the inside and damage the beauty. You can mix in them with a spather or large soft spoon. To me they are more of a set of beautiful serving bowls for any occasion. I love them and highly recommend them!

Why is this so expensive? Little skeptical.

Hello, High quality bowls comes with a Spoon Rest and Tongs I have some of my own and use them for left overs and serving dishes you won’t be disappointed if you decide on purchasing them
