msi Raider GE77HX 17.3" FHD 360Hz Gaming Laptop Intel Core i7-12800HX RTX3080TI 16GBDDR5 1TB NVMe SSD Win11 - Dark Grey (12UHS-074)

I have had this machine for almost a year. This is my first MSI machine. I have been an exclusive ASUS buyer since the 1990's puchasing 40-50 motherboards for computer building and owned 3 ASUS Laptops before puchasing this beast. I tried 2 ASUS laptops before this one in the same price range and had nothing but problems with them. I ended up returning them.My keyboard stopped lighting up. I sent it back to MSI and had it back within a week. It ended up bing a firmware issue that they resolved.The only con I have with this machine is that it gets very loud. The fans are not silent at all. While it's not an issue at home, I could see where it would be a problem in public.

I mainly bought it for Starfield, but every other game I've installed on it I can run at full graphics with zero issues.

I did so much research on the gaming laptop I wanted and this one sounded perfect, I got it and from day one I started getting little signs that I may have purchased a Lemon.First, the USB and USBC ports would disconnect and reconnect. A serious pain when working on projects from external HDs.The color was ALL screwed up crazy over exposed and not able to be fixed with the software on the computer.I found work arounds for the color. the USB situation I had to do a whole bunch of things to keep them from falling asleep randomly, still not working reliably.Then the WIFI adapter disconnects randomly as well, I work a lot on Zoom and need a reliable internet connection and this one is absolutely not reliable. again, more work arounds have made it somewhat usable, but still not reliable.Nothing opens, windows explorer takes at least 30 seconds to even open, slowly populating each thing one at a time.I purchased it a few days before a trip to Europe and now I am back, and now the computer has slowed down so much that as I type this it takes at least 1 to 2 seconds for the text to appear. The whole system seems to slowly be crashing. I've owned 3 MSI laptops previously with no issues but this one hasn't worked like it should, and should be crazy fast and it is not.Giant pain in the butt and really screwed me as a freelance video/photo person.

This thing is a powerful PC ill give it that, but the GPU gets so fricking hot, it burns my fingers when i touch the metal panel right under the monitor. I tried undervolting the GPU with Afterburner but its no help, it always has errors when i try to do the OC Scan, maybe fix it so that we can undervolt more easily i feel like i need a masters in computer science just to get Afterburner working. Also some of the MSI updater stuff is in Chinglish, which is manageable but might confuse someone with less exposure to asian communities.

Plugged it in to charge with the charger out of the box and burned and almost burned my table. Couldn't even use this laptop for anything. Customer service doesn't even seem helpful at all, the Representative basically said that it would have been caused by something i did(all i did was plug in the charger it came with which he verified was the right one)Last time I purchase or recommend an MSI product at all
