Very good!
I love clam chowder and the brand I have eaten for more years than I can count, all of a sudden the taste changed. When from excellent to just plain blah. I decided to give the Progresso brand a try. I had to add a little salt, some fresh ground black pepper and a pat of butter but it was very good after that. Needed a little "doctoring" but made a satisfying lunch. As a senior who lives alone quick easy meals are a must! This fit the bill, was thick with just the right amount of clams that were not tough or rubbery and was not at all salty, as I added a little sea salt. Great value as well. I am pleased with my purchase.

Wonderful soup!
This is a staple for my family. Really makes for an easy and very tasty dinner. The potatoes are chunky and there are plenty of clams. Very creamy and filling.

Easy Delicious Meals
Some of the best soups on the market at definitely the lowest prices around. Amazing great flavors to please anyone under your roof. Even in reduced sodium offerings.

Not fantastic but for a quick lunch great.
Ok. Still as fair amount of salt. But I don't eat them. They make up a decent lunch for a guy on a GLP-1.

Progresso New England Clam Chowder is good but not great.
I like a few varieties of Progresso soups. This Rich and Hearty clam chowder isn't one of my favorites. It tastes good but it is kind of bland compared to some other brands I've had. There is a lot of the liquid, cream part of the soup and not enough chunks. I did find some decent chunks of clam meat but it needed more. The potato chunks are cut small and there isn't nearly enough of them. I used a lot of saltine crackers to make the soup more substantial and filling. It's not nearly as filling as it should be for the price of a can and the dietary expense of the high sodium content. The cream part of the soup seems thin like milk to me. Progresso soups are usually some of the higher priced soups on the shelf and this clam chowder is no exception. There are other brands that are equally priced or cost less that are much better. I would choose Campbells Chunky New England clam chowder or the standard Campbell's standard (red and white label) clam chowder over this. They both have more flavor and the Chunky is by far a more substantial bowl of soup. That said; I would still eat the Progresso if someone served it to me or if it was the only choice on the grocery store shelf at the time I was shopping. It's not bad. All Progresso soups seem to be consistent quality. I just think there are better clam chowders available. It might be a good choice for someone that likes a very mild (not too clammy tasting) chowder or wants an overall lighter meal that's less filling.
