Initially when I received this, I thought, Oh Lord, this is weird looking...will I have the guts to use this on our plane trip to Hawaii, which is 9 hours in the air? Before going on that trip, we were taking a 10 hour road trip to our nephew's wedding. So that was the initial test, where no one would see this except my husband and perhaps a random glance from a passing motorist. I get very sleepy on a trip, but could never get comfortable, no matter what I tried. I have a cedar chest half full of travel pillows that I don't use. But let me tell you, weird as this looks, it was Extremely comfortable in the car. I could use it in different positions. If I didn't need glasses to see, I could have used it resting my face in the top & inserting my arms in the side and actually read! But that's not possible if you need to wear your glasses. Regardless, it kept my head in a comfortable position and I could actually sleep. The next trip was Hawaii. It worked just as great on an airplane as in the car. At this point, I didn't care what anyone thought...the woman sitting next to me thought it was kind of cool. It did not take a lot of effort to blow up, actually little effort at all. It had a double valve, I think it was called, that prevented the air from escaping. When you were done with it and wanted to deflate it, it was very quick and easy with the valve system. The only thing I don't like about this is the storage bag. It's almost impossible to get the deflated pillow back in it, unless you're an engineer or Hercules. I found a bigger drawstring bag that I used and that worked much better. It was still small enough that it fit into my carry-on bag. All this I could do in a few minutes when we landed and were still in the plane. All in all, I'm glad I bought this and I highly recommend this product. My sister tried it and she loved it too! My hunt is over.

Rewriting this now that I've had 4 international 12+ hour flights with this pillow. I've been flying on united basic economy as a 99KG 180 cm (~6ft tall and 215 lbs) man and this has been perfect. I actually bought an empty fabric neck pillow that you can put things in which I hide this pillow inside of until the flight takes off because inflatable pillows aren't allowed and you'd look silly bringing on such a large pillow. I was genuinely able to sleep the majority of my flights while also using earplugs / noise canceling in ear headphones. I was so comfortable and I know my seat mates appreciated it because as a broad shouldered big guy I took up LESS space because of this pillow... the way you snuggle into it and draw your shoulders and legs together to keep it in place actually gives your seat mates more leg and shoulder room. is it perfect? nah... I personally really don't like the fabric texture they use... but that's a minor complaint. Also I will say if you can get this in black do it - because these aren't actually allowed on flights and I was asked one time (towards the end of my flight like 10 hours into a 13 hour flight) to deflate it and I was reminded they weren't allowed. As far as sizing goes I actually wish it was a little bit bigger

The pillow worked well. Was easy to blow up and gave many more options to sleep comfortably. Folds up nicely. A little big in your carry-on but worth it. I only took one star off because at the beginning of a 16 hour flight, the flight attendant announced that they weren’t allowed on the flight. However we were allowed to use it on the way back.

I normally have a terrible time getting comfortable on planes and don't sleep. I decided to give this a try, as neck pillows really don't work for me. The pillow takes less than 60 seconds to blow up (and I wasn't even trying that hard). It was really comfortable le to lean forward and just relax my neck, back and shoulders as I had full support. Think of this like a massage table - lean forward and put your face into the hole to relax. The size when deflated is smaller than most travel pillows, but a little heavier. It still fit easily in my carry-on. One note - there is a plastic seam around the inside of the hole for your face. I used a silk scarf as a buffer and it worked perfectly. Without the scarf, the seam was a little uncomfortable. Overall, the pillow was really comfortable and held up well for hours. As we neared the final descent, I removed the valve and deflated the pillow. I had it folded up and in a bag within a minute. I could not get it back in the tiny accessory bad that came with the pillow, but I had an extra small bag at home I used instead. I will recommend this to anyone who doesn't like standard neck pillows and wants to try something more supportive!

I didn’t like it for me on my flight to France. I couldn’t get comfortable. I let my son use it who is 30 years younger than me. He loved it. So he has it. It may work for you, I like my head back & not forward.,

Used it on a long haul overnight flight and I feel like it did help. Nothing‘s going to make sleeping on a plane wonderful, but I will use this again on the next flight coming up. Deflated fast for stowing when not in use. In my opinion, it’s worth the extra space. I’m more of a side sleeper, so this puts me in a more natural position than leaning back with a neck pillow. After a while, I did have to stretch my back out from leaning forward. But I like to get up and stretch and move around quite a bit during a flight anyway. Worth a try to see if it might be right for you.

Not at all comfortable. I bought this for an overnight train ride but too early so that, when the trip arrived and I could test this, it was too late to return. You’ll also never get this put back in it’s carrying pouch. They needed to give a larger pouch with it. It blew up and deflated just fine; took only a few breaths and the mouthpiece is comfortable. It kept it’s air pressure; didn’t deflate. The blow up part is huge and hard and digs in to my arm near my elbow. The photos on other brands showing you can use these types of pillows sideways won’t work for this one; due to this plastic part, it will either be in your face or it’ll be underneath (if you turn it around) making an uneven place to lay. So using it vertically is your only option for this brand. Using it while sitting up, neither way was comfortable. The larger hole was more comfortable but the angle was not right; I kept sliding forward to where I was slumped, not sitting more upright. That just caused my shoulder to be achy and didn’t support my neck at all. I tried it facing the other way so the face hole was away from me. Still couldn’t get comfortable, no matter how I tried. The earplugs are OK, large enough tabs you can use them properly. And they are bright orange, so easy to find. The face mask doesn’t conform to my face good enough. If a woman has eyelash extensions, this mask will mess them up as there’s no extra space. If you want to try this maybe order a size up from what you measure. I’m very short statured so the small should have sufficed according to their measurements. But order this in time for your trip so you can return it if it’s worthless to you.

Wow this is amazing! I got it out for an22 hour charter bus ride and became very popular with those around me admiring it and asking if had another! So comfortable and supportive! Immediately relieves back I didn’t know was tight. Highly recommend.

Best travel companion Its so useful , easy to use, easy to carry. I could sleep very well for the first time during a long haul flight. Highly recommend every travel to own.

It had so many good reviews I thought it would be great but not so. Unfortunately I got back from my trip on the last day for a possible return so I'm stuck with it and it certainly wasn't cheap. I found it to be a bit heavy and a bit big for the purpose so it took up a chunk of space and weight in the onboard allowance. After using it, I couldn't get it quite down to the original size so it was almost impossible to get it into the carry bag that came with it. It was easy to blow up and to let the air out but after those good points there weren't many others. I tried it fully inflated but found leaning forward into it was not that comfortable as I was too hunched over. I tried the airline pillow under it which helped a bit but it wasn't possible to use it on the tray table as some people suggested as some airlines don't allow you to rest your wieght on the table and on some flights the table wasn't quite close enough for comfort. In the end I found the most comfortable way to use it was to deflate it considerably and then use it more like a traditional travel pillow. I really wish I could get my money back as I won't be using it again. Does anyone want one or two going cheap? Hubby didn't like his either.

The concept is good, and the Travel Pillow is comfortable. But it goes flat after about 20 minutes, which of course wakes you up and you have to pump it up again to full. I am tempted to ask for a refund.
