Great kit if you have no existing stuff to use
Great set - used every bit of it except the tray liner - I always clean my set after and so the tray liner has seemed redundant - though I suppose if I'd been switching from walls to wood quickly, it may have been useful. The rollers work well in general, though you do get a bit of that 'slide' instead of roll, especially on the smaller ones - but the smaller 2" ones are good for small spaces, around plug points and getting into edges - especially since the one side has extra 'fluff' on the edges so it does not scratch the perpendicular wall when you are in the corners/edges.I use the tray even if only doing brush work - much more useful than a pot as you don't end up with too much on the brush from depth of paint and the ridges are useful for getting the right load you want.Cleans pretty easily too - though I only used water based for both walls and woodwork, so nothing too hard to clean when done fairly promptly after working.I even used the paint stirrer - I'd usually just use my long screwdriver that I used for getting the paint can lid off (ha ha) but since it was there, was handy!

Easy to use with a good, strong extension pole
Married in 1976, I've always done my own decorating. I've always used a brush for emulsion painting walls and ceilings, except for one time when I tried a roller, with less than ideal results. Time to paint the hall stairs and landing again, so I thought I'd give a roller another try , after being recommended to by a decorator friend of my son. After a bit of research I went for this set as I didn't need brushes, paint stirrers (I use an old bamboo stick) etc, but I did want an extension for the roller to reach over the stairs. So, apprehensively, I orded this and when it arrived set out using it. I was very pleasantly surprised. The rollers worked very well, with no fibre shredding, and they gave very good coverage. Much better finish and quicker than a brush and by going slowly I didn't get the paint speckles over everything that I experienced before. I still had to 'cut in' with a brush along the edges of the skirting etc, but I am happy to recommend this set, especially if you need an extension pole, which is easy to use and robust.

It worked well and washed well
It helped me paint a couple of walls very nicely. I watched tutorials online first though. Also I forgot to wash the rollers first and that's maybe why they soaked up so much paint initially. Still the results were amazing and they washed well. Good value.

Better than expected
It's been nearly 20 years since I did any decorating, so my old set had vanished (I think my husband took them to the tip). This set had good reviews and was good value for money. I remember that my old (foam) rollers splashed the paint, so I ended up with teeny-tiny dots of paint in my hair and on my glasses. This set did not, so there was no need for me to cover up the furniture. I used it with Wickes Vinyl Silk paint, and it went on a breeze (3 hours for first coat, 40 minutes for second coat). I'm 5ft 1, but the extension pole was long enough for me to paint the ceiling without any ladders. They also cleaned up really well with water and washing-up liquid. I would definitely recommend this set if you're looking for a new set of rollers. Very impressed.
