The book is exactly as described, and shipping was quick. The illustrations are like pictures in watercolor. The alphabet with descriptive words are all involved with fishing. On the side of the page there's a description or definition of what the descriptive word means for each letter. That little extra would hold the interest of kids that know or almost know the alphabet. That is why I think this book will grow with your child.

Obsessed with this book! My family is full of outdoors men that are all about to have children- I will be repurchasing this book for each of them when they start their own families! The illustrations are beautiful and I love that this is a book that can grow with children as they mature. For younger kids you can simply look at the alphabet letters and pictures, as they get older there are some simpler rhymes in larger print on the book, and as kids get older there are fun facts about fishing in smaller print on the sides of the pages. LOVE this book- A must have for little fishermen!

This book is adorable. My husband, who is an avid fisherman, and I are expecting our first child in November. I bought this book after reading the reviews. It is one of the cutest books I’ve seen about fishing and outdoors. The illustrations are fantastic. The content is geared both toward younger babies and older children alike. My husband even enjoys reading it! It is a book that will be enjoyed for many years to come.

This book is GREAT!! I purchased it as a baby shower gift, and the future parents are so excited about it!! What I love is that it can be used for many many years. Besides something as rudimentary as teaching the alphabet, each letter also has a small "story or poem" and a fishing tip!! Couldn't be happier!

This is a good book for a child who loves fishing. He took the book to school where the author signed the childrens' copies. Especially appeals to young boys who fish.

My grandson wouldn’t put it down. He loved it. Good book for learning and reading exercise.

I have a hard time holding my 3 year old sons interest in trying to learn his letters. His twin sister is leaps ahead of him. He LOVES fishing, so I gave this a try and it worked! He loves reading this book and has learned a few more letters because of it and the fish foam letters that we bought as well.

This book ix excellent! My kids not only learn the alphabet, they love fishing and this book teaches them all the fishing terms/words they'll ever need! Highly recommend this book! (for all ages!)

Better for slightly older child, the paragraphs are rather long and technical.

This is definitely a book for older kids. I bought this as a baby book and laughed out loud when I opened it and saw all the text. Was like a fishing encyclopedia! Still gave it to the new parents though - they can read it when they’re 12 :)
