X8 APEX Tire Inflator Portable Air Compressor, 1 Min Fast Inflation

There's nothing worse than getting in your car to go to an event, all dressed up, or someplace you have to be at an exact time (like an interview!!) and as soon as you turn the car on, the low tire pressure light comes on. Then frantically wondering what gas stations nearby have air pumps. I've driven to some, only to find that there are no air pumps or they are out of order. If you do find a working air pump (some even charge for the air and only accept coins!), it's a hassle to pump, check the pressure, pump some more, rinse and repeat. This happened to me too many times, so I read about this tire inflator and decided to give it a try. I am thrilled with this purchase. It has completely removed the pain point of low tire pressure. Inside its black carrying bag, it sits discreetly on my car floor. The first time I used it, I was nervous and really just wanted someone else to do it for me. But it turned out to be super easy and stress-free. It reads current tire pressure so no need to switch between a pump and tire gauge. And it stops automatically at the set pressure. The instructions say it's loud and to protect your ears, but it's really not all that loud. It took me about 1-1.5 min to inflate a tire from 28 to 33 psi. I did all 4 tires that same amount and the bars remained unchanged on the battery indicator. It did take several (actually, many) hours to charge the unit from zero to full charge. I let it sit unused in my car for a few months and when I checked the battery it was dead. So now I've put it on my calendar to check the battery every 2-3 months. I last charged it 3 wks ago and when I went to use it today it was still at full charge. Not only is it handy to have around all the time, but it gives me a lot of peace of mind for going on camping trips, where you may be far from a gas station and having to drive around on bumpy dirt roads for miles.

Another reviewer captured my goal for this pump too. Modern cars with their tire pressure monitoring systems are valuable safety improvements but they are total nags. Every time you get a warning you have to drag out compressors and extension cords that are great for filling many tires from zero pressure but tedious to deal with when the pressure needed is a few pounds. On paper this pump and others from competitors look great for topping off tires when you get the pressure warning. The unit is not large or heavy but it is larger and heavier than I expected from descriptions. Its about the size of a water bottle and heavier because metal is heavier than water. The heft hopefully indicates a well built product that will last a long time, but no guarantees of course. I got the standard package which has all the bits that I need. If the battery rating is important to you then I don't know what to tell you. The advertising copy says 7800mAh but the product manual says 2600 mAh. It is also rated at 28.86Wh and 12V which implies 2400mAh. Doesn't matter to most of us but if you obsess over this you might be disappointed in this product. Upon receipt I charged the unit as directed. It does not com with a charger but you probably have a shoebox full of USB chargers you can use. It appears the unit can accept up to 3A but I charged mine from a 2A USB charger just fine. If you use a lower current charger your charge times will increase. I didn't carefully note the charge time on mine but after use it charged from 1 bar to full in about 2 hours. The thing that prompted me to buy this was of course the pressure warning on the dash on one of our cars. They were last filled when temperatures were around 90F and now they were around 30F. I needed to put 7 psi into two tires and 8 psi into the other two. They are 225/65R17 tires. The hose and adapters seem high quality but of course no adapter is needed for Schrader valves on car tires. The hose is long enough to reach a valve at the 12 o'clock position on my car and would reach a valve a few inches higher. The unit is heavy enough that you probably would not want to let it dangle from the hose. The unit is easy to operate and the instructions are clear. I filled four tires in 15 minutes. You connect it, turn it on, and you can then do other things until it shuts off. It is a fire and forget weapon in other words. The battery meter had dropped to two bars when the fourth tire was finished. Well, it wasn't complaining but we have another car which had last been topped off in the summer so tried to fill those tires with the remaining charge. They are 205/55R17 tires and one needed 5psi, the others 6psi. It took about 10 minutes and the battery meter was flashing as it completed. So, I am happy with the purchase. It does exactly what I needed to do and it is much less fuss to use than my more capable compressors. I might not be able to top off both cars on the same charge when they need it but that is a minor inconvenience, especially since they rarely both need it the same day. I have not used it on bicycle tires but the nice Presta valve adapter should make that easy. I also have hand truck and snowblower tires that need filling and this should do those just fine too. It's a few days later and snow is coming so I used the pump to fill the tires on the snowblower. While I was at it I filled the tires on our hand truck and two 26x2 and two 29x2 bicycle tires. It made short work of these smaller tires and it took 1 to 1.5 "bars" of battery power. It was very easy to use on these small tires too, the Presta valve adapter worked perfectly. I forgot to mention it before but I don't happen to have a lab grade pressure measuring gauge so I compared the pressure the pump produced to a medium quality analog dial gauge and a typical digital pressure gauge. These three consumer devices agreed to within half a psi. So it is accurate, easy to use, and works quite well for filling a wide variety of tiresl.

Easy to use. Will save you in a pinch if your tire's low on air pressure. One charge will let you fill up tires on at least 6 cars back to back before needing a charge. The quality's good. It shuts off when you attain your desired air pressure. It's inflation speed's good and doesn't get too hot when re-filling multiple tires.

Nice, small, light, and portable item. Hold the charge well. Good to have in your car along with a tire plug kit for roadside emergencies. Also convenient for whenever you want to check your pressure or top off. Automatically stops at the correct PSI. Doesn't have the type of clamp for the air stem as shown in the photo. You can always buy one separately. The connector it comes with is just held on to the valve stem by hand.

Having a long list of “necessary” accessories for my new Tesla Model Y and I came across this thing and thought…I don’t really need to focus on air do I? Well, in an effort to reduce the amount of weight in the car, Tesla opted to not include a spare tire. So owners need to consider what they can do to cover themselves if they have slow leaks or even just put enough air in the tires to get themselves to the next service station. Enter the Fanttik X8 APEX Tire Inflator. The name is a little misleading because I have no idea what a Fanttik is…but when it comes to comparing this to other inflators I could put this on the APEX or top of the hill. It’s easy to use, has a durable build quality and the additional tips allow it some versatility as well. Out of the box it had about an 80 percent charge and the included cable plugged quickly into a usb port to get it all the way to 100. The carry bag has a Velcro-closing, little space for the approximate 1 foot rubber tube extension hose and you can store the tips and cable here too. The rest of the bag fits the inflator quite nicely. I used it a couple of times and its a breeze to operate. Long press to turn on, dial in the correct Tire PSI and push the middle button to inflate. I walked away as it filled a tire to the 42 PSI the manufacturer recommended. The built in pressure gauge ensures you don’t under/over fill the tires. I love that it included adapters for the other bike valves too. I think Presta and Schroeder. Why can’t they all use the same. Oh well…I digress. After spinning on the correct adapter it can fill my high pressure bike tires up to 150 PSI. This thing doesn’t even wince to get up high. As for battery life, I haven’t tried to fill 4 full tires, but I did check all 4 with no concerns. They were newer tires, so there’s really no reason for concern…just an old dad, playing with a new toy. Overall, I have no reason to hold back any stars. I appreciated the build quality, the usefulness of the tool and the price wasn’t awful. I might say it is a little on the high side and if it doesn’t last a long time, I could come back and ding it for that. But for now 5 stars…and maybe my favorite new accessory for the new car.

I have only had this a week but was able to use it to check the tire pressure on both cars. It was nice to be able to set the tire pressure so it shuts off automatically after reaching the desired pressure. The tires on my cars were not very low but it only took a few minutes to check on the tires. They all needed a little additional air. The only drawback is this is only battery operated and is not dual energy sourced so if the battery draws down, you need to wait to recharge the battery before using again.

The Fanttik X8 APEX tire inflater is amazing! It is portable and completely accurate. I have used this inflater for several weeks primarily on my road bike. The ability to switch between Schrader and Presta valves is not only easy but it remains accurate and effective in inflating tires. After you have selected which type of tire you want to inflate, you simply set the desired pressure, put on the valve and turn it on. It does not make an excessive amount of noise and you can see both the current tire pressure and the pressure as it fills the tire. As soon as the set pressure is reached the inflater shuts off! I needed to top off my car tire so I used the APEX and set it for 36 lbs. of pressure and sure enough it got to that point and stopped. It's a great relief knowing that the device is available without looking around for gas stations or paying to put air in my tires! The other great thing about the APEX is that, despite using it for weeks, the battery level indicator, which is on the screen and very visible, has barely moved despite using it several times to inflate my road bike tires before going out on my rides. Overall, this was a great choice to purchase a reliable, accurate and easy to use tire inflater. Lastly, the customer service from Fanttik has been amazing! They are responsive and very cooperative. Great company. You won't regret buying this APEX inflater. By the way, I was not compensated to write this review. I would also recommend getting the hose extension with the quick chuck. It serves two purposes, one being that it screws into the hose that comes with the APEX inflater, and the ability to lock the valve in place is very handy.

I had tires that needed air, two needing 6 lbs, one needing 4 lbs, one needing 2 lbs. This inflator did all tires quickly. From the 4 bars of battery power, i had 2 bars remaining afterwards. I don’t know the full potential of this inflator but hopefully i don’t find out either. It was fairly quiet considering, it didn’t get too hot but the air hose became quite warm.

Only had it a few days and used it to top up motorbike tyres. Worked pretty quickly. Really clear and easy to use and so far so good. I think it would take a long time to pump up a car tyre but for emergency use it would be fine.
