Perfect for creek fishing
The shad looks great. I was only able to fish it for a few minutes unfortunately as it snagged and couldn't be recovered. I will say I was surprised how deep it swims. I was fishing in 4 feet of water and it went right to the bottom. The action was the classic back and forth head down Rapala retrieve. Little twitches got the shad to turn on its side before righting itself. Really nice but expensive especially if you lose it like I did. I do think it should be priced half of what it is.I had to buy another one to replace the one I lost. I like the lure but definitely an investment.

Killer!
Great little lure, attracts pretty much everything from Panfish to bass to saltwater fish! Will be buying more.. keep in mind it is a very light and small lure! You will not be throwing this very far

A great lure for Rainbow Trout
I troll the Rapala Ultra Light Shad lures in Trout lakes in Tennessee and North Carolina with excellent results. Until Rainbow Trout get very large, they seldom eat minnows much bigger than this lure, 4cm or about 1.5 inches. These plugs run about 4 feet deep. They're perfect in the cool lakes that have dams just upstream with cold water discharges and the Rainbows feed shallow. In other lakes without an upstream dam pouring out cold water, where the Trout go deep in the summer and fall, they fish well on lead-core lines or downriggers. Besides Rainbows, I've caught Brown Trout, Smallmouth Bass, Largemouth Bass, Walleye, Yellow Perch, White bass, and last year (2020) I caught a 6.5 pound Lake (Mackinaw) Trout on a lead-core line at Watauga Lake. This is a great lure any place the fish are feeding on small minnows. I've done particularly well with the silver ones with purple and green backs. The gold with a black back works well where fish are feeding on baby Carp. Other colors are gonna fish good at some locations, I'm sure.
