So I am not sure what "does it work" really means. The ribbons are fully adjustable, you can tie them as you like. I got the rainbow version and was very pleased with the colors and pretty flowers. It is a little delicate, mine got rained on and had to be repaired. Hope that helps. It would fit an older child or adult head.
