UPDATE - My battery went in its 5th year. I paid $20 and sent me new battery!
The battery stopped working after 4 years and it was honored. The hair laser is well made, however the battery is the only thing that stopped working so I will contact the company and let you all know how it went. I am calling the company today to see if they will honor it. I will be back with my answer shortly. btw, i made the battery last much longer than 60 days the first time by recharging it after every use. But now it doesn't stay on, except when I squeeze the battery a little, it goes on which leads me to believe the battery has a soldering problem which wasn't soldered all the way so I think that it's fixable. UPDATE in July 2025, THIS COMPANY HONORED ITS COMMITMENT TO ME And sent me another battery. THIS PRODUCT DEFINITELY WORKED. It grew some hair but so far no thickness of hairs, so that's my limitation. So I keep using this now 5 days a week instead of 3 days a week. Also I'm using one other hair growing option, but the laser helmet is key. There is another laser helmet (not Illumiflow) which I won't name. It only has 30 laser lights in it, and the rest are LED lights instead of lasers and didn't work, but the Double Blind Study used 272 laser lights which is what the Illumiflow helmet has. The amount of LED LIGHTS in the helmet is critical because the study of laser helmets said that 272 lights were needed to stimulate the hair follicles. This helmet has 272 lights and is the most reasonably prices of units that have been made well. About my Battery not working problem. The owner was quick to get back to me and very concerned. He sent me the battery within 2 days from Scottsdale Az. Other things you should know. I bought this first and Amazon was good enough to let me return it because I had problems with the battery. Then I used the return money to RE-BUY the Illumiflow model because it has a 5 year warranty. I have used the helmet from Nov 2020 and all the laser lights still work after all this time. The helmet is well made and the developer spent most of his money using better materials to make a superior product and sell it for the most reasonable cost, out of all the laser helmets, rather than spend all that money on Marketing which is what some developers do. The battery lasted me over a year the second time. Why? Because I didn't listen to the manual which says to charge it every three or 4 uses. Instead, I charged it after each use which made it last much longer. One last note that the manual doesn't tell you: If you are over 40 to 75, your hair will not return in six months like the manual states. It took me over one full year and three months before I realized that my balding top crown was no longer bald, but hairs are growing there. Right now, I have hairs on my head, but they are sparse. Not sparse as in bald with a few extra hairs, but I mean, sparse as in a comb-over look. In other words, there's enough hair to grab, but it's not as thick as when I was in my 20's, but still cheaper and better than transplants, and you can talk on a phone while wearing it or watching a movie. I'm not sure I would wear it while running though as I think it could break. But even though some hair has come back, I have not give up yet on trying to get it all back. This is the perfect unit to experiment with time though because it has a 5 year warranty, and I believe the owner will continue to honor his product so at the end of 5 years, if I need to, I will probably buy another helmet from the same guy. My 5 day a week use is beginning to pay off. some hairs are becoming thicker in certain parts of the head, so I have good hope that my hairs will continue to come back and grow, but it will take time. So the question is, was it worth spending $849 to buy this? Yes, it was worth it because I never bought it until after I had lost much of my hair. This is a high quality unit when compared to $2900 model, this is the better deal because it's cheaper and works. And the only thing that has gone wrong with it is the battery and if the warranty expires he'll sell you the batter for $42. But you must remember no laser helmet or hair treatment, except for transplants will get you all of your hair back that you had in your twenties. A rule of thumb is if you have been bald for over 5 years, a laser helmet may not help you as much as transplants. But I was partly bald for 3 years and 50% of my hair came back. I will update later if the rest of my hair comes back. Another update August 2025 of my hair helmet. My battery a second time went in its fifth year. This company sent me another batter, a newer kind of battery actually. I had to pay $20 shipping, but they didn't charge me for the battery in its fifth year. Thank you Kimberly and Peter so much.

Small
It's a hard piece of plastic. For a male I have a small head. For example... My gf is 5'5 and we wear the same Size baseball cap. The laser cap does not fit on my head it's too short from front to back and just big enough on the sides the you can slip a pinky finger in a little bit... in my opinion, this will NOT fit on most men's heads... and NOT going to fit on many women's heads either. The pros are it's super easy to use. It has 272 diodes instead of LED lights. Turns off automatically. Blinks off and on supposedly on purpose. Beeps at each 10 minute interval. Turns off after 30 mins. You use it every other day. I plan to do before and after pictures. Will update in 4 to 6 months.

Good so far, but a few things could be better
I bought this because I have moderate to severe female pattern hair loss, with thinning all over but worse on the top/front and crown. I looked at a lot of laser caps before buying one and decided on the 30 minute version because I wanted to stick with the type of treatment schedule used in a lot of the studies I found. I’ve only been using it since July 29, every other day, so it’s WAY too soon for me to say if it works. I also use minoxidil, dutasteride, tretinoin and microneedling, so even if I get results eventually, I won’t really know how much came from the laser cap. I’m basically trying to hit my hair loss from every angle I can. The unit itself seems sturdy and well made. I originally thought the lasers were built into the baseball cap, so I was pleasantly surprised to find out the actual laser helmet is separate and the cap is just a cover. I don’t use the baseball cap though. The emblem sewn into the front makes that area hard and stiff, which is too bad because I actually would have worn it and given them free advertising. LOL. Baseball caps are pretty much my life these days. My biggest complaint is the fit. It runs large on me and slips around, so I can’t really walk around or do chores while wearing it. Since each treatment is 30 minutes, I pretty much have to sit still the whole time. I also REALLY wish there was a countdown timer somewhere. The unit beeps between cycles, which I find pretty annoying. I’d much rather be able to look and see how many minutes I have left instead of sitting there twiddling my thumbs wondering how much longer I have to go. So far I’m getting about four 30 minute treatments from one battery charge, which I think is pretty acceptable. It does take quite a while to fully recharge though, so give yourself plenty of time. I was a little concerned about eventually needing a new battery, but replacements are sold on their website, so that wasn’t a deal breaker for me. My head gets pretty sweaty under it, but I use it in the evening so that hasn’t been a big problem. It comes with a carrying case, which I really appreciate. There is nothing more annoying than spending this much money on something and then finding out you have to buy a separate case just to keep everything together. One thing I found really interesting is that my Illumiflow order was actually shipped by Kiierr according to FedEx. Illumiflow has a page on their own website comparing their caps to Kiierr, so I’m not sure what the relationship is between the two companies. If you find what looks like the same model sold by Kiierr for less, I would definitely compare them before buying. I liked having a return period when buying something this expensive, although I definitely don’t like the 25% restocking fee. For now I’m giving it 4 stars. I’m not expecting to know if it’s actually helping my hair for several months, so I’ll update my review later when I’ve used it long enough to judge that part.

Yes, I am seeing hair regrowth!
UPDATE - UPDATE!!!! 9-2-21: I started having issues with the battery and the extension cord. I had multiple back and forth conversations with customer service AND THEY WERE AMAZING!! Sent me several extension cords, a new battery with case - all FREE! Then, as I was still having issues, they are replacing the entire cap system at no charge to me. They even sent a pre-paid label to return it!! This cap really does what it says and I have had amazing results which my stylist comments on all the time. And the company truly stands behind their products. ORIGINAL POST - 4/2021: Being a nurse, I did a lot of research on this type of product before actually purchasing it. It is FDA approved & could do what it said. After researching many models, I decided on this one as having the maximum number of lasers and a very reasonable cost compared to other 272 laser brands. (Capillus is $3000!!!! for the exact same thing.) I not only have a family history of sparse hair with aging, I also have Lupus which can cause hair loss. My hair was starting to get so thin that it looked like a thin brown covering on my head - like it was painted on! I started using this product in 12/2020. Within 2 weeks the first thing I noticed was that my hair wasn't falling out continuously!! And over the next 4 months I have seen a thickening. It isn't like my teen years, but I am extremely happy to see a stop to further loss and some regrowth!! I use it for the full 30 minutes about 4 times per week. My head is small (I wear an extra small motorcycle helmet) so it is kind of big on me. But I center it and it is fine. I'm usually catching up on phone games while I use it. It comes with a baseball type overcap that goes over the actual laser part & that has a bit of overhang around the edges which helps to block the laser light from shining down on the face. (Lasers can damage your eyes if looked in to or reflected in to your eyes.) It makes my scalp feel warm, but is not uncomfortable in any sense. The only thing I have any unhappiness with is that the battery pack is not holding a charge very well after 4 months of use, so I have contacted the company via their support email to find out what they can do about it. The unit cannot be used while plugged in to the wall socket, you must charge up the battery pack to use it, which is fine. It auto shuts off after 30 mins. A Final Fact: there are several different types of hair loss and only a few types will not improve with this device, so be sure to look at the company's hair loss chart to see which type you have before purchasing. Over all I am extremely happy with this product and it does help hair regrowth.

Kept my hair shedding to a minimal
I started using the Illumiflow 272 laser cap in February of 2025 when i noticed that my hair was not looking as thick and full as it used too, and noticed an increase in shedding. I wanted to start with the safest protocol I could so I did my research and fell onto a laser cap as a good starting point along with changing shampoos. The Illumiflow was priced competitively and they had a 2 year warranty so I took a chance with it. I started using it 3x a week and by the second month, I felt that my hair was looking & feeling better. And in about three months, my hair shedding was back to baseline. I have used the product ever since, but cut it down to 2x a week. I feel its worked well for me in reducing shedding, and getting the thickness back that I had and I will continue to use it. One final note. My battery failed after a year and they are sending me out a new one. They responded to my support email in mere minutes. Fast and great service.

4.5 stars laser cap with the best price that seems to work
2025 Update: The laser cap is still being used every other day and the CS is excellent. They are responsive and replace the battery pack that and help in whatever way necessary. I am getting a new battery pack from them. My wife stopped using it for several months and did notice an increase in hair shedding Once she started it again about a year ago. its been going strong again. Both my wife and I have been using the Illumiflow 272 laser cap now for over three years and do feel like its made a difference. It's easy to use, every other day for 30 mins. The customer support is also excellent as they've replaced the cap and the battery once after having some issues about 1 and a half years in. Compared to what other brands charge, this one has the best price quality ratio. The only improvement I wish Illumiflow would do is update the battery pack to a USB-C and look into improving the chip board quality and charge longevity. They said they'll address with the manufacturer. The battery usually lasts us about 2-3 charges before it needs to be recharged again which is fairly reasonable. The size of the battery pack is also fine to easily store it with the clip on your pants or in the pocket. While you technically can, I do recommend not to run around it in the house and do chores. First, the cap does sit properly on your head but it could easily fall off if you were to lets say vacuum your floor, secondly, you can easily tangle the usb cord from the battery pack and get stuck. For a 800$+ product, I wouldn't want to chance it. I can't speak to the quality of the lasers but the cap itself appears sturdy. Oh, the baseball cap to "cover" the laser cap is BS, but that's fine! You want stronger hair? Own it and share your journey! I've shared our story and its appreciated by other people who suffer of hair loss. Just keep in mind, you'll be doing the cap for the rest of your life (until they come up with something better), likely combined with Minoxidil (women, do some research and use the 5%!)

Poor Product Support
Poor Product Support -Wish there was a 0 star option My Illumiflow 272 cap stopped working after a couple of years. I contacted the Product Support team back in May and they asked me to ship the cap to them. They received the cap on June 3, 2025 and after a month of constant check in with them (according to them the technician was busy and had other orders ahead of mine) finally on July 3, they acknowledged that the cap was defective and is covered under the warranty and they would be sending me a new replacement. It has been 6 weeks and I still do not have the cap. Every time I contact them, the response I get is that they are waiting for a shipment but do not give me any estimate as to when the cap would be shipped. I believe that they are giving me a run around and do not have any intention of replacing my cap as I cannot believe that a company that has been actively marketing July 4 and Prime Deals do not have supply to fulfil their orders. Has anyone else experienced similar issues? Just trying to understand if this is how they treat all repair/replacement requests.

Flawed. Turns off without notice and the beeping is extremely loud.
The illumiflow 272 turns off without notice, so I'll be wearing it but unaware it's not on. And the beeping it makes when you turn it on, or when it notifies you it's halfway done is extremely loud, like a dump truck backing up loud. No way you're wearing this with your sleeping wife/GF in the same room as you read or work on a computer. Really 1.5 stars but I feel generous this morning so I rounded up and not down.
