The cats weren't really keen on this treat but the dogs just loved it. It's nice when you can give your animals healthy alternatives, and this is just that!It's nice to know what is in the jar instead of buying something with a long list of ingredients, this is simple and healthy.

First, all us cat owners know how picky our feline children can be. Unfortunately, I can't taste this myself but he loves it so it must be yummy. He has a very sensitive stomach. After years of searching for something that not only won't upset his stomach but he will also enjoy.. we found it. In fact, I order a few at a time bc I don't want to take any chances of running out. Plus I appreciate it is. from a small business ess and want to support them directly from now on. Great work, Chef Kitty

These freeze dried treats are my cats favorite. They both come running when I shake the container. The add is a bit deceiving because of how large they make the container look. It’s actually quite small, but still lasts a long time. It takes the cats about a month to go through it.

I think Chef Kitty has some great stuff; I just have bad luck with Amazon when it comes to freeze-dried meat for my kitty. (Additionally, any perishable food - protein bars - that I order from Amazon is always stale and OLD!) How does Amazon store freeze-dried pet food? Because this product and so many others preceding it are NOT FRESH. This chicken was hard; had a bad odor; and would not even hydrate. When I soaked the pieces in warm water the fat and skin hardened and there were barely any plump, juicy pieces of *real* meat to feed him. To top things off, my poor guy vomited shortly after he ate it. I felt terrible doe feeding it to him in the first place as I was not pleased with the chicken. Folks celebrate receiving freeze-dried meat in a jar, and I can see their point; I received countless bags of freeze-dried meat for my kitty that arrived in a plastic bubbler full of crumbs. But the thing is, the jar allows for a lot of air to get into it after you open it which makes the product lose its freshness and softness. I out in in a plastic baggie and press all of the air out of it. I create a very tight seal and tie a rubber band.around it. These products should also be kept in a cool, dry location that does not get too much light. I wonder if Amazon stores freeze-dried pet food the same way, or do they just lump it in with the bags of dry kibble and cans that sit in a warm warehouse. Who knows. I am tired of it. I also believe that the meat crisis has a lot to do with the diminishing quality of freeze-dried chicken, salmon, turkey - all of it - ESPECIALLY the chicken and the salmon (over-fishing is a problem). I think the companies that produce these freeze-dried pet foods are being supplied chicken that is not fully developed to keep up with a demand where supply is short. Who knows. I do know this: Compared to when I first started buying freeze-dried pet food, the quality has plummeted. Sadly, I am too ill to buy raw meat and make him his recipes myself. I used too until Lyme disease robbed me of all of my energy. I really believe in nourishing my kitty with raw food. He does so much better on it. So I guess the trade-off is buying the freeze- dried prepared foods for convenience, but these days, I am not sure of what I order is going be good quality. And the prices? Forget about it!!

I can not attest to the flavor but can say my cats ran away when I tried to replace our everyday treats with these. Cats are picky and opinionated.
