I had a can opener similar to this one that had lasted for several years but then began to stop several times on each can. I replaced it with another can opener that was similar to this one but had handles that were a little bit longer and round on both sides instead of flat on one side like the handles on this one. That one with the longer handles didn't want to open the cans all the way around either, but this last one is doing a good job so far. I store my canned food by expiration date so that I will use first those that expire first. Sometimes the expiration date is on the bottom of the can, and I store those cans upside down to make it easier to see the expiration dates. This also means that occasionally I will use this dandy can opener to open a can that has the opening tab on the other end. So, maybe the can opener could be improved by adding a flashing light to alert the user when the can has an opening tab on the other end?

I love this can opener so much. I recently sliced my thumb knuckle open from using a horrible can opener, had to go to the hospital and get stitches. The nurses recommended buying a new can opener and I found Gorilla Grip's Can Opener! It perfectly slices every can open with ease, it glides very easily and you don't need to put much arm work into it. I love it so much and will definitely purchase again! I even bought my mom one. Don't neglect purchasing a good can opener, shell the money out for a good one and avoid an injury, trust me!

This is doubtlessly a really good, traditional can opener. My issue is with their description. Saying it is a "Smooth Edge" can opener, indicated to me that it would (like Safety Can) cut the lid without a sharp edge. No. That isn't what they mean. All they mean is that the can lid won't have a ruffled or barbed edge. If you want a non-sharp edge, this is NOT the can opener you are looking for. You're welcome.

There is nothing more frustrating that a can opener that does not work properly. This is a well built, sturdy can opener. It feels ergonomical and cuts easily. Has a nice comfort grip and the part you turn is thick and heavy so you can get leverage when needed.

Bought to replace my old hand crank can opener that was rusting. I looked specifically for stainless steel as it doesn't rust. The opener is a nice size and fits my hands well. It attaches to the can easily. The turning handle is large enough to hold and turns smoothly. Looks well made. Washes up nicely in the dishwasher.

I bought a new can opener because I have 2 and one opens some cans and the second one, other cans. Well, this new can opener, opens my dog food cans that have a self clip to open it but I can not do it that way because I need to get all the meet at once like a can shape. So, the old can opener was giving me some trouble so I bought this one and works perfect BUT I wanted to open a can of cream chicken and guess what? It did not work. I had to use the old can opener. This works great and opens cans smoothly with little effort. Bought a similar (different brand) opener a few months back and in the middle of opening a can the entire cutting wheel rotating handle assembly fell apart. I’m hoping it was just a bad brand and not an indication of all modern products being not built to last
