Good bait bucket aerator
Finally got to use this today.Has been running since 7 this morning and still going strong.Seems to be a solid unit. Made of plastic but not cheap. It's been running for 12 hours and working well.I have it on a bait cooler and fits like it's supposed to.The plastic it comes in is also a rain cover to keep it dry. Not sure how long that'll last, but I put it on.Easy to operate. Decent price. Well made.I'd buy it again and recommend.

Worth the money
Purchased a hush bubbles many years ago, was made in America in the day, lasted 21 years, same diaphragm, purchased the current product and seems of similar quality and performance, albeit that the outer casing is not as solid

Good little bait bucket air pump
There are two problems with this type of bait bucket aerator, noise and battery life. A nice quiet boatride with an electric trolling motor is ruined by a noisy aerator and that is true for some of the other models of the "bubbles" series. This one is the quietest I have used and I've owned four. The standard one is terribly noisy, quiet bubbles a bit better, this is the best. Battery life- it runs on 2 "D" cells and you are lucky to get two day long trips out of them so they do get expensive as D cells aren't cheap so you need to figure in the cost of batteries and add it to the cost of a bucket of shiners or whatever bait you are using. The motor is sufficient to pump air for a 5 gallon bucket with no problem, it might even do heavier duty, I haven't had an opportunity to try it. Your other optiom is a "minimizer" that runs off the boat 12 volt battery. It is also quiet, never needs batteries, has low drain but that extra set of wires can be annoying, especially if you want to move it or place it away from the boat battery. Forgot to mention, it also keeps the water quite cool.

I've had a few of these over the years.
They don't usually last more than three years kept in the plastic or not; I do run mine hard though. Never had a diaphram problem. I'll keep leftover minnows and do water changes between trips. I've found that Rayovac heavy duty alkaline outperform the others and cost less. The pump: Works as designed, until it doesn't and is also quieter than others. I may get a rechargeable next time or this one in the 12v option but why mess with what works well especially for the price. $20 every three or so years to keep your minnows lively is a no brainer.

Worked During Blackout
I was skeptical of how long the bubbler would last under extended use, but I had two of the units running during a 36 hour, black out. The model puts out a good amount of air with fresh batteries. And after 36 hours it was still going strong even though the motor sounded weaker as the batteries drained. Sitting on top of my aquarium the vibration made it loud, but I had another unit down next to the tank on a longer, air hose and it was relatively quiet. The surface it sits on makes a big difference to the noise it makes. When the blackout was over I accidentally dropped one pump in the tank, but the rubber seal worked to keep the interior dry. I'm very glad of my purchase.
