Fantastic product! Don't understand negative reviews.
Maybe it's an installation problem for others or not changing the channels it operates on if there is interference or what. In my case it was perfect. The install couldn't be easier. Pads for surface so it doesn't slip, foam dual sticky sided 3m mounting pads and magnets to attach it to metal were all included. The size of these is amazingly small. As far as spread speed etc. I have a closet about 30ft from the TV and it is immediate response. I use it with a Sofabaton because that remote doesn't have it built in its only IR is the hub which sits inside my closet.Plugged the blaster in behind my TV andounted it on the bottom lip of my LG OLED. Insanely discreet size.Overall worked out of the box as expected. With receiver and blaster IR built in you can go solo or plug in the included wired extenders on each end.Overall very well thought out product, packaging and execution. Probably a life long Sewell fan.

Works perfectly - great product
My MBR TV set-up incorporates a cable box set up in a closet about 50 feet from the TV (hung over a fireplace). When it was set up the A/V used a wired infra-red set up that was wired thru the walls, under the floor, into the closet. Unfortunately some mice nibbled on the wiring and it does not work. I have tried everything including the Next Generation extender (over the years bought 6 of them for different TV's) and most recently the Startech. The Next Generation have not been updated in years and over time completely lose their ability to operate. No customer service at all; emails go into a black hole. I had high hopes for the Startech. Easy to set up and worked out of the box. The problem is the lag time. I could live with it when watching live TV, but it was totally impossible when it came to playing back programs from the DVR (which is cloud based). I was losing hope until I tried the Sewell Blaster. Took me less then 5 minutes to set up and it worked instantly. Little or no lag to speak of and I couldn't be happier.NB. Speaking of Sewell, the absolutely BEST way to control your HDMI based TV is the Sewell Direct SW-30062 Dual Band InjectIR sold by Amazon for $55. This is truly plug 'n play and operates with absolutely no lag. Bought 2 of these to operate TV's in my apartment where I had to hide boxes in closets. Well made, great instructions (coordinated with the devices) and I just love this product. I bought mine direct from Sewell ) same price) because I couldn't find them on Amazon when I needed them, but they have a great return policy and I'm told great C/S. If you can't use these then go for the Blaster.

Very poor range
This did NOT work for me. I could not get the emitter and receiver to talk to each other unless they were within 10 feet. Tried every combination of locations, emitters, no emitteres etc. Just had very poor range. Changed channels, same result. Disappointed.

Works well, one catch for plasma TV owners
Works great, have been using it for 5+ months now. Receiver on the first floor, transmitter in the basement, about 20 feet away through the floor and walls. We did discover a problem - our old TV is Panasonic Viera plasma one and it actually produces infrared radiation when powered on. At first we placed the receiver part of Sewell too close to the TV and it would quit "sensing" the remote after some time. After reaching out to support and watching Sewell troubleshooting videos, and searching online, we realized it was the TV all along. Moved Sewell receiver away and covered it a bit which pretty much fixed the problem. It still stays lit with blue light all the time, sensing IR but our remote signal comes through now and no longer gets overpowered by the TV IR noise. Check your TV manual for the notes about IR if you use plasma.

Super Easy - Functions Perfectly
PERFECT!! OK - as we all know, finding capable and reliable AV professionals has become an increasingly rare occurrence. Accordingly, we have to handle some fixes and retrofits ourselves. I needed to replace a fully integrated system with an RF and IR remote system with something simpler for controlling a cable box and Apple TV. Out of the box, this item couldn't be more user-friendly. Sixty seconds spent reviewing the cords and the quick installation manual, 5 minutes to disconnect the old system, and 5 minutes to install this. It worked perfectly from the start - 10/10 for ease of installation and use. I have read some of the other reviews (prior to purchase), and I cannot see how anyone could struggle to get this up and running...!

Works but came damaged
Easy setup and worked right away, but for the $62 price it shouldn't come damaged. Both of the pucks have scrape marks where all the holes in the casing are.
