Denon AVR-X1700H 7.2ch 8K Home Theater Receiver with 3D Audio, Voice Control, and HEOS Built-in (Renewed)

An excellent buy so far. No issues, works excellently, My budget home theater sounds greats to me. The av receiver allows refinement and adjustment in music and movies. It works in tandem with a 2015 Nvidia shield pro and a budget smart tv. My room is a basic 10ft x 10ft, treated with budget foam panels.

Recently bought this to put in my new theater room. The hookup was extremely easy I was able to plug my fire stick right in the back and start steaming through it immediately. The quality of the audio and video is impeccable. Real movie theater experience. I'm able to control the fire stick volume with the surround sound controller so it makes it really easy to use. Definitely worth the money if you enjoy quality.

This is a perfect receiver for a smaller theater set up. I built my first home theater setup in a 5.1 configuration using this receiver. It works great and I really appreciated how easy it was to set everything up. Good quality sound and easy to use remote as well. There are better, more expensive receivers out there but this is perfect for the beginner level setup.

purchased Oct 2, 2025 .... Completely dead less than a year later as of 7/9/26 My 8 year old Marantz 1502 is still kicking and this 1700H bit the dust with barely any real use... Never again Denon

I picked this up as I was unhappy with the performance and sound and features on my Yamaha Rx 4Va. I wanted to upgrade to include Atmos. I took it out of the box, plugged in my speakers, ran Audessy and it's been incredible! I still tweak it here and there but overall it's night and day over my Yamaha. Clear, crisp and tight sounding. I'm running a 5.1 system now but upgrading to a 5.1.2 soon. I have Klipsch speakers and it is exactly what I wanted my system to sound like I bought this refurbished for a deal and it's like brand new so don't shy away from those deals. It's basically brand new for $350. Very intuitive setup. It's only been a week, but I have zero complaints. I've been a Yamaha AVR guy since I was 17, but now at 42, I am a changed man

Using this Denon AVR-1700H as my home theatre centerpiece. As inputs, I have a 4K gaming source, a 1080P blu-ray source, and have a cobbled together 5.1 speaker set. The output is a 4K TV that supports 120Hz and eARC. The pass-through quality is amazing. No perceivable lag during gaming. The setup was fast and very intuitive. The Denon quality is astounding. This unit replaced a previous X1700 that was destroyed by a young male foxhound. The customer support for the previous unit was amazing, but unfortunately "water" damage is not covered by the warranty. I have not set up the secondary audio zone, but with the home theatre setup I have, I do wish there had been a way to output video to multiple displays. I'm considering a 4K 120Hz HDMI splitter to alleviate this issue. This AVR puts out plenty of wattage - I can barely go above 50% before it starts rattling the house. It really makes movies come alive. Plugging in a new HDMI source such as a portable gaming system works great. The source autodetect feature makes this simple to use and breeze when powering up the gaming source. I also enjoy using the eARC audio feature since the TV is connected to multiple streaming providers.

Looks brand new. The price was right. Easy to set up. Great features What can I say . I live it. Replaced my last two receivers

I used to own one of these (DAB version) in Europe, but had to leave it behind when I moved to the USA last February because it was 220 volts only This is a terrific receiver for the money, and this 110v version is great. I would recommend it to anyone on a budget.
