We love this marble run kit!
It is a beautiful, fun toy for the whole family! Every different design is like an architectural accomplishment! It does take a bit of attention and time, but it is doable for most and has clear instructions. I love the sound of the rolling marbles. I see it as stunning sculpture when I enter a room with it. It does topple if it’s bumped, but stays up well if not. The small red ramps (plastic,) that are integral to every design, get lost easy, being small. Maybe include extra of those? I highly recommend this for groups with at least one capable set-up leader who is a big kid or adult. It’s a wonderful purchase & well worth the price I paid. Enjoy!

Critical Thinking Skills, Engineering, Design, Creativity, FUN!
I started looking at marble runs for my 4 daughters ages 3-12. At first, I was intrigued by the plastic ones, mostly because of their price. However, the more I researched, the more I was interested in the quality Hape Quadrilla wooden marble runs. What I love about this set is that my girls have to use critical thinking skills to build and then tweak the marble run to make the marble run smoothly all the way down. It isn't snapping plastic pieces together. Instead it's more like building with wooden blocks and tracks. We bought both the Cyclone set and the Music in Motion set. My 6 & 3 year old daughters love the Music in Motion set. My 8 and 12 year old love the engineering of the cyclone set. Honestly, I get into it, too! I'm already eyeing the next Hape Quadrilla sets I want! I love that this challenges my oldest girls and enchants my younger girls. I noticed some reviewers complained that the set comes apart easily....well, of course you want it to come apart! That's the whole fun of it- taking it apart and rebuilding into a completely different design! Why would you want one single fixed marble run? That would be boring! The fun is in engineering all different kinds of marble runs, with no 2 alike! The options for different designs makes this quality toy endless fun for a huge variety of ages! And by the way, I PAID FULL PRICE and NO ONE gave me anything for my review! LOL

What a hit with 6 year old grandtwins!
I'm pretty sure my grandkids will play with this toy for years to come. Both my grandaughter and her twin brother are fascinated with the maze....I'm not sure they've changed it up yet as they're still laughing hard at every marble run. They get very excited when the marbles occasionally clog and "call each other for help" at the location to unclog! This set, although a bit expensive, seems very well made and full of building/engineering options to learn about physical science in such a fun way. They abandoned their new Christmas Lego's to play with this....and they cherish their Legos! We've set it up on tile floors and created towel stops for marbles at the end of the run. Not sure how steady it'd be on carpet...but probably ok with kids this age and older. Highly recommend this non-electronic & highly imaginative toy!

Very challenging, not very satisfying.. very hard for kids to do without help
My kids love marbles and we have the plastic marble run sets that you can piece together--which they are able to build themselves and go back to playing with over and over again. I loved the look, the vibrant colors and the concept of this wooden one, and thought my kids would have fun building and learning about physics together. The way the pieces are holed it looks so neat and challenging! Unfortunately, even at 5.5 and 3.5, they aren't able to build these tracks independently-- an adult needs to help them, and even still, it is very challenging. Pieces do not stack and stick together well, so structures you finally put up get knocked down or topple over on their own in an instant. Try adding the impatience of young children to this, and it's just so disappointing and frustrating. Marbles get stuck or fall off. If you try to build the entire thing using all the pieces, it will take you quite a long time and many tries. Even grandparents gave up in the middle of building with the kids and commented 'this is not a good toy'..! Perhaps this is some people's idea of fun. I wish 'some people' were my kids! Since we are unfortunate owners of this set now, we will try it again year after year and I will update if one day it's awesome. For now I would not recommend..

Great sturdy product, but with some flaws
I like how solidly made the pieces are, and it's fun for both myself and three-year old daughter. The two things I didn't like were that 1) it tips over almost as easily as a house of cards, so if my daughter reaches over to put the marbles in she is likely to topple something over, and 2) I didn't like that the teal and green blocks (and to a lesser extent, the yellow and wood blocks) look really similar in the instructions. I have to increase the lighting and stare at the final drawing to figure out which of them to use. There are so many other colors to pick from (pink, light purple, brown, even light green or light blue, would be better than teal).

Lots of fun and endless possibilities
If you are looking for a marble run, get this one, you won't regret it. When my son told me he wanted a marble run (his school had one at STEM class and he loved it) I started my research and found out there are lots of different ones, and I decided to buy this one. The quality of the wood and paint is great, as all of hape wooden toys. Since it's wooden the stability is pretty good compared with other plastic ones. It comes with a manual and loooots of different ways to assemble. It took my then 5yo son some time to be able to read the manual by him self, but now he is an expert. I love how he now understands perfect the pieces and what each one of them does and the effect they have when changed or more pieces are added. It's a fun toy for kids and adults. The marble run is a blast every time we have visits

We need to buy more!!!!
My 5yo son opened this as a Christmas present at 6:30 this morning and it is now almost 5pm, WE ARE STILL PLAYING WITH IT!! The enclosed instructions have multiple setups to erect and give you an idea of how to make your own in the process. The tracks can be a little shaky on carpet, but still work great. Instructions could be printed a little larger and with better color (hard to tell green blocks from teal in the pictures). But neither of these issues is enough to bring down the amount of fun it is to play with this item. Even without the instructions, it's a lot of fun to figure out how to make your own run that works. The wooden set actually makes my son determine what block he needs to make the run work and is more of a challenge for him. I would recommend this product to anyone who has a child that wants a wooden marble run as opposed to the plastic ones (my son let me pack up the plastic ones for donation this afternoon). After buying this item we are going to buy more sets soon!!

We all love it + Build TIPS
Nothing ends complaints of boredom like playing with an adult, so this toy gets my full endorsement because I love to play with it. I may have made tracks during nap a time or two. 😉 I bought this for a 2yo and a 5yo. Definitely think that even 5 is on the young side for playing with it AS INTENDED, however they have loads of fun with it anyway. They like stacking blocks, playing with the marbles, putting marbles through tracks that I free build, and the 5yo helps me build to plans and is learning the mechanics to make simple free builds. BUILD TIPS: For their age they need the build as stable as possible, so I always start with a circular base and keep the spiral pieces low in the build (see photo). If you don’t have marble traps for the exit, you can put a stopper in the center of the big spiral and use that as the last piece in the track to catch all the marbles.

Skill-building quality product
I bought a small marble run in this line for my grandson, 6, for Christmas. He liked building that one and I think he will enjoy the challenge with this bigger one to add on. I counted all the pieces as other reviews have suggested to do so as sometimes pieces are missing (humans!). It’s true that it can easily get knocked over, but that’s all part of the challenge, and fun

Marble Fun
Bought this for my 5 year old grandson's birthday. It is expensive to buy the whole run, and takes time to build. At his age, needs a lot of help with the construction but imagine that in another year he would happily design and construct the runs by himself. Once built it takes a little time to adjust so that the marbles don't fall off the track or come to a halt before the end of the run. You also have to be careful not to knock the construction as it is displaced very easily. But, a good well made toy overall which he is having fun playing with.
