Sugaring Hair Removal Kit – Medium Luxury Home Wax for All Body, Universal Organic Depilation from USA, 12 oz – For Women and Men

Ok, I guess I'm getting hooked on this thing. Half a year ago I got tired of shaving and decided to go for a wax epilation. Didn't like it. It was painful, I didn't get perfectly clean skin and I got a terrible irritation and itching. I heard a lot about sugar epilation and decided to give epilation a second try. I tried to find a sugaring salon which was a very difficult task - it seems that no one is doing sugaring. But I liked it much better - no pain, no irritation - and the skin is sooooo smooth and silky! Next level - I found sugar paste on Amazon, because sugaring is freakin' expensive. Even with first 2-3 times of trial and error( mostly error, duh) it's so much cheaper to buy the paste and do sugaring at home ( I am also so busy that it's hard to make an apointment and the nearest salon is still very far) Here's the things I learnt the hardest way: 1) Buy good before and after products: cleaning solutions, good talc ( I used simple corn starch from my kitchen cabinet, it did the job but I'm buying a professional talc next time) 2) Use Nitrile gloves. NITRILE. I bought the cheapest ones and they were a mess - got stuck to the paste, than to each other, then got ripped - so I didnt even get to applying the paste on my skin ( lol) 3) apply the paste in thick layer - if yu're not a super professional ( like me) make sure you have enough paste to hold on to. - The thicker I applied it, the easier it was to remove it. 4) Apply the paste against the hair growth and rip it off along the hair growth. Doesn't sound logical and it took me some time and bunch of youtube videos to figure it out. But as soon as I did - no irritation and red dots! 5) Bikini zone is still terrible - I realized that when I use small portion of the paste, it's easier and less painful. But it takes more time, and the skin gets hot, so the paste melts and sticks, so i wasn't able to do the whole bikini zone ( i mean deep bikini) in one go If anyone has some ideas, please sare. Also, does anyone know how to sugar very deep? I don't dare to do full Brazilian ( don't want to tear off some precious parts along with sugar, lol) 6) Heat the paste in a pot or bowl with hot water ( Put it in the water in the container, make sure the water doesn't get in!) If you heating it in microwave, 10-15 secs is enough ( I overheated the first small container I bought and had to throw it away) 7 ) Spatula An amazing tool I found at the Sugaring Factory website. My hands are not very strong and it was very difficult for me to scoop the paste out. Not any more! So, all in all I am super excited, especially when I get more and more experienced working with sugar paste. It's inexpensive, I can do it any time I am ready, painless - yay!

First let me say that I am not trying to discourage anyone from using this product, I’m only sharing my experience. Although my experience was horrible, I cannot blame the product because I am not a professional and it could just as well have been my fault...I’m not sure either way. I have waxed my entire body using every type of wax there is, with the exception of sugaring paste. I have been wanting to try this technique so I searched for a product that looked like it would be good, and that had good reviews. Once I found and ordered this product and was waiting for it to be delivered, I watched nearly every tutorial possible about how to use the proper technique with sugaring paste. I followed the directions that came on the product, as well as the tutorials. I also did the prep that was recommended. When I started out (on my legs), the first few times seemed to be doing okay although it wasn’t getting every hair like normal wax. However I was expecting this since I watched so many tutorials and they said you have to get on a sugaring schedule in order for all of the hair to properly come out. After approximately 4-5 times of spreading it and pulling it off (and everything going fine), I noticed it started hurting much more than usual. I found that very odd because waxing has never hurt me before. Then the first bruise appeared near my ankle. I thought maybe I did something wrong and I would just keep going to see how things went. I started on the inside of my leg then. I was only spreading it across approximately 6-8 inches of skin at a time until I got more comfortable with the process. But this time the paste would not lift off my skin! I went back down to the bottom and spread it up again (never really lifting my hand because I couldn’t), and once again it wouldn’t lift off of my skin. So I tried once more, this time I ended up all the way up my leg! Once again it just pulled like stuck bubble gum and wouldn’t lift off no matter what I tried! It was extremely painful! I had no idea what to do so I got in the shower and used soap and water to get it off. That’s when I realized I had bruises all the way up my to my knee. I’m disappointed because I have always been able to easily use any and every kind of wax I have ever tried and never left a bruise. I wasted money on something I can’t even attempt to use again. Although most people would blame/bash the product, I will just say that I personally had a very bad experience but that does not mean you will. Maybe it’s my skin texture or perhaps I wasn’t doing it right.

...I expected it to be a bit more firm being a medium sugar wax. I'm new to it, so to be fair I didnt know what to expect. It was just so soft it melted right onto my skin after a few pulls, and I found myself having to rinse and dry my hands and skin after every few pulls... Maybe I'm hot blooded lol. However, when it worked, it WORKED! I loved how it really got the hair out leaving my skin really silky smooth and no prickly stubble, and it grew back more sparse and the strands seem thinner. I think it was very pain-free, but I've used an epilator which I find quite painful...so comparing to that it doesn't hurt at all. It certainly takes some technique in how you apply and remove, and it can be quite messy if your new to it I guess, but it's easy to rinse off. It doesn't leave that annoying sticky feeling like most waxes, and warm water takes it right off, no problem. I found it much easier to use if the AC was really cold so it would melt into my skin as fast and I could get more use out of each wax ball. Maybe using an applicator instead of my hand would've worked better. The packaging wasn't the best, it felt sticky as soon as I got it, and had wax droplets around the outside even before I removed the plastic. Overall, I'd say this might do well in cold climates or people who keep their house on Arctic status. I'd like to try a harder wax next time.

This works great, once I learned what I was doing. The directions included are not very clear so I went looking up different videos on YouTube, and the actual brands website for help. First time when I tried to use this it was really stiff so I heated it up as the directions said by 5 seconds, well it was too warm for me to pick up (thick syrup like consistency) and pull the hairs. Well after putting in the fridge a bit to cool it worked way better but I've noticed it's really hard to get out of the container cold and apparently the surface of my body heats it up pretty quickly that it becomes too sticky way too quick. Which the company site does say that rookies to sugar wax typically make the mistake of buying softer waxes thinking it'll be easier to use, that actually harder waxes are easier. I believe it. I thought I was doing good by buying the medium myself. Well lesson learned I will get the harder one next time. Now some reviews mentioned a rash, doing further research on sugar waxing that could be caused by allergic reaction but also red rash like bumps can be caused from improper tearing/flicking or even cause light bruising. This also depends on the area you're waxing, and the sensitivity of your skin. On my calves I didn't have an issue with this but I did a little on my thighs. So for the newbies like me make sure you are pulling parallel to your skin and tightening the area as u pull to prevent this and use a cooling spray or simply put ice on the irritated area ASAP to help. From what I saw online this company sells a cooling mist and other products for this reason. Also I didn't use powder first which would've probably helped with the bruising issue too. Also from my research evidently if you're on or about to be on your period that could cause your skin to be more sensitive too and be the reason for the irritation/bruising. Basically the wax is great and does it's job but new sugar waxers should most likely get the hard one not medium,take a few trial and error attempts at what works best for u, & be careful with how you're tearing/pulling the wax. Im not new to waxing but I got to say I didn’t know what to expect with this sugar wax but it’s really easy to use and it’s not painful at all, i have very coarse long hair I thought it was gonna hurt but it didn’t and it got a lot of hair off leaving my skin very smooth afterwards when it first arrived in the mail it was very hard after a day it was manageable I didn’t have to heat it up or anything I scooped some up into my hand and rolled it into a ball and spread it on my legs and yanked it off it was pretty fun too the downfall is that after a couple uses it gets very sticky and hard to use even when adding more wax into it but overall I would definitely buy it again 100/10

I think sugaring is one of the best methods for at-home depilation, and I've had success with other brands in the past. This brand, in my experience, has one fatal flaw. Once it gets soft enough to be spreadable, after one or two strokes, it becomes so soft that it no longer sticks to itself and simply stretches. This is a nightmare when it comes to sugaring, because it means that you pull, and the sugar wax pulls on your hairs, but instead of pulling them out, the wax that's attached to the hairs separates from the part you're pulling on. It hurts when this happens, and you are left with wax-covered hairs. You have to then keep going over this area, probably with the same results multiple times. What you want is a wax that spreads over the hairs, and with a quick, clean tug, neatly pulls everything out in one go. That's much less painful and frustrating. I give it two starts because it is possible to, with oceans of patience, work around and through this issue. In order to get both of my armpits waxed, I had first refrigerate the wax to harden it, then had to use the tiniest little globs, and keep getting new wax every two pulls. Even then, I had the pulling issue. Because of this, I also make trips to stand in front of my A/C unit to cool the wax that was left over on my armpit hairs down enough to stick to the new wax. Horribly frustrating experience. I've used this brand several times, and was always able to get the job done, but it's now happened enough that I'm over it. Not worth it. I'm probably going to buy Cocojojo again, which is a brand I used before and didn't have this problem with.

I used to go to a "sugar mama" to get sugared but being a wife and a mother I have plenty of other necessity things I need to spend money on and I soon realized how expensive it got (brazilian $65, underarms $20)!! Every month I was spending $100 which includes the 15% tip. After watching my sugar mama do it a few times, I decided to take action into my own hands (literally :P) and I searched on Amazon for sugar wax and came upon this product. The 1st time I did it, I did it right before we had to go to a bday party so it was done half a**ed but I still got the job done. The product and price is great. I will be able to use this $16.98 container to do my own brazilian and underarms sugaring SEVERAL times vs $100 every 4 weeks. What a deal! This may be TMI but I'd suggest you go to a sugar mama first (if you're doing the brazilian) and then do your own sugaring in 4 weeks once the hair comes out thinner and softer. I would've never been able to sugar my own full on bush - too painful! The pain is no where near waxing and much less ingrown hair (if done right). What I did was: 1. Put latex gloves on. 2. I applied baby powder (pure corn starch kind because the regular kind has Talc and that is known to cause cancer). 3. Scooped a small hand full. I had the sugar wax in the bathroom (room temp) so it was hard so I kept it in my hand to soften it up a bit (I purchased the medium one). 4. Applied it best I could to my underarms. I was not able to spread the sugar wax professionally like the sugar mama's since I wasn't in the right element (more on that below) and the sugar wax ended up glopped all over the glove so I improvised and used the glove as a "strip" and smushed the glove onto my underarms real good, went to my happy place, and rip. Repeat. The next time, I'll be doing it the proper way which is crucial to sugaring: - Melt the sugar wax in the microwave for 5-10 secs. - When you sugar, you have to be in a cool room. The places I've gone too always have the AC blasting (for good reason). So either have a fan on you or AC on, otherwise the sugar wax will not slowly harden to be able to spread onto your skin and instead it'll just glop onto your gloves/hand. - Some kind of powder before sugar wax application is a must. Again, I use Johnson's baby powder pure cornstarch. - Apply the sugar wax the opposite direction of which the hair is growing and rip out in the direction of which the hair is growing. - Make sure to purchase a calming/anti-irritation type serum for after sugar waxing.

Here are a few crucial tips for a successful sugar hair removal: -Exfoliate in advance, preferably a day before -don’t shower right before. You want your skin and body temp to not be so hot -use corn starch or baby powder on the area right before (so wax only sticks to hair) -use the sugar wax in front of a AC or fan, so the wax doesn’t heat to too much -if the sugar is sticky, gooey and impossible to remove cleanly that means the wax is too warm (either from your body or environment temperature) let it cool off then try again -if the wax won’t remove cleanly DO NOT PULL IT OFF. Simply wash it off w warm water. Extra tips: Before you start, pull the wax into your hands and make a ball by holding it w your index, middle and ring finger AND use your thumb to move the wax in circles to make a ball shape. Apply the wax opposite direction of hair growth A FEW TIMES (up and down) so that the wax is capturing all your hair THEN end your last application at the top and flick your wrist and pull the wax in the direction of your hair growth.
