When you're paying 3 times more for the equivalent Sony G lense this comes as a surprise. Great image quality throughout the f-stops & the auto focus is fast & quiet. The build quality is actually better than Sony G lenses (it's all metal). If you can't afford the price Sony charge for theirs then get one of these. The only thing it doesn't do (yet) is allow focus breathing compensation. There's also no image stabilisation built-in but the IBIS in my Sony FX30 more than compensates for that omission. Highly recommended budget APS-C lense.

Using this on a Sony ZV-E10 and it does not like working in product mode. Maybe one in 20 times the autofocus will correctly capture an object held up to the camera but more often than not it will just click away continuously trying to find something to focus on. It's pretty noisy to so bear that in mind if you're using this for video.Other than that, the image quality is amazing. Really bright and clear with great bokeh

It's the cheapest 85mm lens that's out there, let me specify cheapest new lens that supports the fastest AF for the latest Sony cameras with phase detect Auto Focus.The lens generally feels good quality and quite heavy, that's what we want because that means business :)My initial testing of the lens is very good, the sharpness looks on point, motors move fast and very quietly, unfortunately when importing the images to lightroom, there is no lens profile correction available by Adobe.But I definitely recommend buying this lens, it's good price and gives you stunning shots for your money!

Watched all the reviews on YouTube, Camera Conspiracies being the one I've learned a surprising amount from - also recommended!If you want use your Sony APS-C camera as a webcam and for home blogging, 23mm 1.4 is perfect for framing, natural focus isolation, natural undistorted face proportions, etc — sharp as my wit.Tried the Sigma 16mm 1.4 first, as so many YouTubers seem to recommend - but they are all wrong. That's a great lens for landscape photography, but this Viltrox 23mm 1.4 is the one you want for vlogging. If you need a wider frame, move the camera back and get a remote for focus, shutter, recording start/stop for home studio recording, and get a longer selfie tripod for out & about walking & talking —Joilcan extendable is your friend for that.I'm sure it'll be great at everything. I'm never, ever gonna give this lens up. Your research quest is over my fellow image-conscious online traveller. This is the holy-grail. Get it before they realise it's worth twice as much and price accordingly.

Was super excited after watching reviews of the lens. Well built and a nice weight.Blows out the highlights far too much for my liking. Weird colours in the sky. continuous autofocus missis ALOT.Will give it more time but leaning towards returning.

I had one briefly. TBH this gives images a look that I love - smooth, adequate contrast and detail, but with a very gentle touch. It's not just about the bokeh. But the AF was terribly unreliable, possibly even worse than the Sony 50 f1.8, and then the camera started to show errors with the lens mounted and it was sent back. This lens is also very heavy.It was tempting to buy the manual version, but I got a good deal on the Samyang 85 f1.4: that also renders nicely and the AF is good.

Great lens for anyone with a sony full frame, fast and lovely bokeh, surprisingly sharp, quick and accurate autofocus, grabs the eye on my a7iii and seems quick and accurate with very little noise.

Non pensavo da Viltrox di ricevere un'obiettivo di questa qualità!Sfocato bellissimo a 1,4 , nitidezza super, Af onestamente ha fatto il suo è talmente breve la corsa a 13mm... Il prezzo non è dei più abbordabili e ingombro e peso (purtroppo per me è in metallo) non lo rendono il più portabile per aps-c ma rimane una lente super che non ha concorrenza almeno in sistema Sony E.

La messa a fuoco è decisamente troppo rumorosa! E si sente durante il video. È precisa ma rumorosa. La ghiera dei diaframmi è bella ma alla fine non ha il fine corsa su automatico e si rischia di passare da f16 che è l ultimo valore ad "A". Per il resto il bokeh è molto bello, come quello del sigma per intenderci ed è molto nitida. Sicuramente per la fotografia potrà andare bene ma per il video da fastidio il rumore. La restituisco

ich mir für den Preis ein bisschen mehr erhofft habe.Meins war recht laut.. war auch nicht das schnellste was den Focus angeht und zudem hat es nicht mal irgendwelche Zusatzfunktionen, schade. Ging demnach zurück. Ich bin beim Original geblieben, da diese auch robuster wirken.Passt auf wenn ihr von Amazon kauft.. eine Gelderstattung dauert ganze 30 Tage 👌🏽

Ottica resistente e compatta forse un po’ troppo pesante rispetto a molte ottiche Sony della stessa dimensione. Autofocus non proprio reattivo molto più veloce e preciso quella delle ottiche Sony, a volte si blocca e bisogna attendere un po’ per la messa a fuoco. Visto l’apertura dell’obiettivo speravo in una nitidezza maggiore sia nella parte centrale che ai bordi. La ghiera con la possibilità di decidere le aperture o di metterla in automatico potrebbe essere comoda, ma a volte basta poco ritrovarsi con la ghiera spostata dalla scelta prestabilita. Che dire il prezzo non è elevato ma non è quello che mi aspettavo.
