Good value on this classic.
I've long wanted to read the stories contained in this volume. I have a complete collection of Washington Irving's short stories, but I decided to get this complete book to get the non-fiction part as well. It tells of the author's 1829 trip to Granada, and contains much historical background as well as the stories.Funny thing about the title, though. On my copy the cover and title page both say " The Alahambra" rather than "The Alhambra." Maybe that's why it was so inexpensive. But with so many versions out there, this was a bargain nonetheless.

This is an abridged version.
This book is an abridged version of Irving's "Tales from the Alhambra." It contains the sections of the original book that describe the Alhambra itself, not any of the attendant stories. That being said, it's a reprint of an instructional book, and it has some nice basic notes and footnotes about the sections it contains.

Grenada, Spain.
Very interesting story of this special place in early 19th century.
