Yes. They're very like those coiled hair ties, but long enough to wear as a necklace comfortably.

Could these be cut and still be safe for babies? I want to make a toy for my friends baby using these as the legs, but would it fall apart or anything

You would be able to cut it and it stay together. Just have to make sure on size cut and age of baby they don’t choke on it or it comes lose from what ever you’re making

Will these be good for a 5 year old who likes to pick at their fingers?

It couldn’t hurt to try. My son would constantly grind his teeth or lick his hand until I got these and hasn’t really done either since, because now he has something else to keep his mouth busy. But maybe your child can keep their fingers busy playing with this instead of picking them, and if not you could always return.

My daughter hasn’t complained of a weird taste and chews on them often.
