This works great, just make sure to put it in a pot that is big enough to cover the top of the basket when dropped. This will help make it easier to use. Since it's just one person I'm cooking for I usually cook 2-3 helpings at a time to have left overs so the size is great for that. Clean up is a breeze all I do is take my sprayer and spray it clean. This basket keeps my spaghetti in one place so it makes it easy for me to test it while cooking. Don't overload it.

Don't bother reading this review if you intend to use this product with a large pot of boiling water. It might work well in that application, but that is not what I was seeking, and I have not tested it in that scenario. Rather, I am here to tell you that this noodle strainer is a "must buy" if you own an All-Clad asparagus steamer pot -- the slender cylindrical kind that is about 5.75 inches in diameter and about 8.5 inches tall. (It doesn't have to be an All-Clad, of course, but my observations here won't really apply if your pot is materially different in dimensions and design.)While the small tall pot with strainer insert works well for steaming asparagus, a couple of ears of corn, eggs, and certain other food items, it's really no good for boiling noodles. In particular, it really wouldn't let me do something I wanted to do with it -- boil and strain a ball of nama (fresh) ramen noodles. The idea is to cook a single portion of noodles without having to boil a huge pot of water, fish noodles out of the water, or dump the whole thing into a colander. Enter the noodle strainer basket with wood handle. Most of the choices here on Amazon are just a tad too large in diameter -- with the little hanging hook at the rim adding to the problem -- making it impossible to drop the basket deep into my small tall pot to get a proper boil.I searched in vain for a similar pot with a just slightly larger diameter. There is no such thing. Then, I realized I was attacking the problem the wrong way. I don't need a slightly larger pot; I need a slight smaller basket. This product is the solution.It seems to be very well made. I'm impressed with the construction, and if in fact the material is 304 stainless, it should hold up well. I'm suspicious of Chinese stainless steel, so we shall see. I will update this review as appropriate.

Looks fabulous. Have not used it yet. Have seen them used in restaurants to heat up one serving of cooked pasta

Product works as advertised BUT you have to have a fairly deep pot, like a lobster pot, to use this effectively

Double check the measurements before you purchase, it was a bit bigger than I thought. Still totally worth it.

Lol. I do not use it to cook with. I use it to drop a 12v water pump into to keep debre from entering pump. Works very well.
