I read many reviews. Many gave great info. Reliability had me look at Panasonic. Our last Panasonic microwave lasted 30 years. Served us well but needed new. I researched the cyclonic inverter technology. Some concerns but mostly good results. Went ahead and purchased. I have been using microwave since they first became commercially available in the early1970's so I'm well aware of the drawbacks of "soggy", uneven heating, drying out if overcooked, hard to getting the timing just right, etc. I just accepted that microwaves are not perfect. But, the new Cyclonic Inverter technology is a game changer. I'm impressed with how well food is heated without overheating. The sensor properly detects heat/moisture and really does a good job efficiently. Drawbacks, and they are well documented in other comments, are the child lock feature and the panel buttons that are hard to find & press. Despite the few drawbacks, I fully recommend the Panasonic Cyclonic Inverter microwave which does a great job heating.

A real upgrade to our old microwave, especially when using some of the lower power settings. The inverter on this one uses lower power where the old one would just cycle on and off for a percentage of time. With this, the cooking is more even, although a little faster. I wish it was a little taller inside and the would like the light inside to be a bit brighter. Still, this is once of the nicest microwaves out there.

If you have no young children, that child proof lock will drive you crazy to disable.. The instructions in the manual did not work for me. Here is what works for me; 1. Press '0' to clear 2. Make sure door is open 3. Then press; Inv/Turbo Def Timer Popcorn Otherwise, it's a great microwave, good size, functional and ok noise level. Btw, always buy the warranty on microwave ovens. They all die within 3 years.

I generally don't review things, and never expected to reviewing a microwave at that... but this microwave as been something else. I was skeptical of the sensor cooking or the "cyclonic inverter" figuring they were throwing buzz words around. I spent the first week with a thermal camera and a thermometer testing out the auto sensor feature and setting with anything i could think of, frozen dinners, lasagna, pizza, leftovers., popcorn (bagged and in popcorn poppers) and can only say i'm impressed. It's pretty much cooked everything perfectly even the frozen lasagna was 160f at the center running 180 around the edges with just selecting the auto feature. I think this sounds stupid however this microwave legitimately makes me feel like i'm in the future. For the last month i havn't bothered setting a time on anything or even looking at cooking instructions as I press the sensor button and hit start (sometimes changing it to frozen or based on the type of food) If i'm cooking something that i prefer a little more thoroughly cooked (170-180) I'll place a plate upside down over the food, I think takes a little longer for the moisture to reach the sensor. Regarding the popcorn button i've always been told to not use, it works perfectly, trying to do popcorn by sounds (pops-per-second) I always end up with more kernals, more burnt, and frequently both kernals and burnt popcorn. Selecting the right size bag via the popcorn button really felt like they had dialed it in finding no no burnt popcorn and nearly if not all kernals popped. I wouldn't go out of my way to get this microwave if you alreaddy have a perfectly good one, however if you're reading this review... I'm only saying that I would buy this again in a heartbeat. The synergy between the "cyclonic inverter" heating things evenly and the Sensor cooking is astounding.

Worked well, but broke just over a year in. The door won't open. I push the button and nothing happens. I now have to hold down the button and pull the door open from the bottom. I think this is because of the child lock, which turns on again if there's a power outage, even if you've discovered the magic key sequence to turn it off. I pushed harder after a power outage before I remembered that and probably broken it. But it shouldn't break that easily. They all have child lock due to FTC regulations, but supposedly other brands (sharp) don't reset after a power outage. Their chat support is broken -- says to use a green button that doesn't exist. Their phone support is $10 just to talk to them. And their parts site has only one part for the entire microwave with no description or picture, so it's basically unrepairable. I therefore have to buy an entire new one. Illybe buying a brand that doesn't suck instead of wasting my time with Panasonic.

Spent the extra money because this microwave was one of the top rated for chemical/toxin free house. Was disappointed. that it had a weird smell that was still there after a few weeks. The child lock is annoying but I get it. The door got stuck after only 3 weeks which is why I returned it. It did cook very well and look nice but too much money for the door issue being stuck

Same size as my old Panasonic and fit the cabinet perfectly. Works great

Very nice and powerful microwave. Easy to clean. Only con is hard to read buttons on front, not lighted. Would buy it again
